does anyone know if adeles first album could end up at no2 this week??if so has that ever happened before in chart history?

Yes, it was #2 in its second week on the chart. :D

But in seriousness The Corrs had both of the top 2 albums one week in 1999 as gooddelta (I think?) pointed out.

They did, they're by far my favourite ever group/first I looned over and I remember tuning into that chart and being absolutely ecstatic when they were announced as #1 and #2  But Adele won't get as high as that anyway with 19 because Bruno Mars will still be selling his album far too strongly.

Im delighted to see IMEDLA MAY top 10 in the album i hope she can stay there, mayhem is a fantastic album and its great to see some uk success really coming her way, long may it last.

the national tv awards performance may help Matt Cardle climb a little bit in tomorrow or fridays update (hopefully)

Am I missing something here - the Radio 1 'Chart Update', ie: their midweek chart, lists 'Higher' by Taio/Travie/Kylie at No. 22, whereas this track doesn't appear to get a mention as being anywhere in the Top 40 on this thread.

OCC have tweeted that 21 has sold "nearly 100k" :o
Wow great sales for adele, she should be safe for 130k now or higher.

It's sold nearly 100k in two days, it's not gonna only sell 30k in four days :P I think 160k at the absolute minimum now, it might even break 200k :o

What's the biggest day for sales? I'd think that Monday would be pretty big for new releases, but how much could Adele sell on Saturday is what I'm wondering.

I think Monday is usually the biggest day for sales, its the first day of release, but you have Saturday as well when most people go shopping, you can easily slip an album as you are coasting along in a supermarket along with your vegetables and fruit.

Ignoring simultaneous releases (Bruce Springsteen, Guns 'n' Roses), The Beatles, Mike Oldfield and The Corrs have all filled the top two positions.

Having looked at the Radio 1 midweeks there's one climber you've ommitted from the update - frustratingly, it's frikking Just The Way You Are, up to 17 on it's 19th (!!!) week in the top 20.

Oh gosh. :drama: It'll sell a million before leaving the top 40 at this rate!!

Hooray for Pink being top 40, hoped Adele's "Someone Like You" would get top 40 as well, is there any chance of this happening?

There's a chance but its close to zero - unless she performs it somewhere (unlikely) its probably got a 0.001% chance of being top 40 officially this week as its already dropping on iTunes from its peak of approx #24 (down to #32 now) - it would have needed to have got into the top 20 on iTunes and stayed there for a few days Wednesday-Friday to stand ANY chance unfortunately.

p.s. Love the music on your shuffle chart. :)

Maybe when it's released as a single in the future?

What are the chances of JLS overtaking Katy B and climbing back into the Top 10?

They are higher than her on iTunes I believe
