The Cranberries have their highest peak at #13, with two singles. Neither of which are Zombie, Linger or Dreams... but the much less remembered songs Salvation and Promises.

And Beck's highest charting single is The New Pollution at #14, which managed to outpeak the song that is by far his most famous, Loser, by one mere position.

funny, i can hear new pollution but can't think of loser right now

 "I'm a loser baby, so why don't you kill me..."

Devil's Haircut and E-Pro both deserved top 10. Well, as did boh the ones already mentioned and Where It's At should have been massive as well -_-

Depeche Mode - "See You" (#3)

I just find it odd that this song out of their several classics is their highest charting.

Bit premature but Pendulum as well, "Propane Nightmares" charted lower than "Watercolour" and "Blood Sugar" didn't even go top 40...
Don McLean's American Pie only reached #2, whereas Vincent and Crying both made #1
I know it's so soon. However, I believe that Alexandra Burke may be in this with 'Start Without You' (barring the obvious 'Bad Boys') I think her other hits will be remembered more/better than that... (unfortunately)

See You only got to number six. Depeche Mode have never got higher than number four.

My mistake. I can't recall where I thought it peaked at #3. I think "See You" may be their biggest selling single though.

Yeah, their highest charting are People Are People (understandable)...but then Barrel Of A Gun and Precious, which I have no idea about :/ You'd think it'd be Just Can't Get Enough or Enjoy The Silence, or at least Master And Servant.

Erasure's only #1 was the ABBA covers EP, outcharting Sometimes, A Little Respect, and everything else they've done.

Prince only got to #1 during his 'symbol' phase with The Most Beautiful Girl In The World, rather than 1999, When Doves Cry, Kiss...

Until 2004, Peter Andre's biggest hit wasn't Mysterious Girl, it was...Flava?! That's no longer true now though, thanks to I'm A Celebrity.
