UK rappers never do well there...

If only vice versa applied.

OK - I'm really gonna take some flak for this, but...

The thing is - I automatically think of all rappers as American, so I forget which few are British - I didn't even realise Tinie was born here. :o

To be fair, most hip hop fans in the US don't even consider Tinie, Dizzee, Tinchy, etc. as hip hop artists.

Like on another forum I go on, they got into a discussion about the BRIT awards, and they were all like "Who's this Tinie Tempah guy who has so many nominations". Then they heard Pass Out and were all like "lol, that's dance-pop".

Clearly they need to get used to grime music. They hear dance beats, so they immediately call it "pop".

If only vice versa applied.

There's a very obvious difference between US and UK rap.

Please enlighten me - to my ears there's no difference.

Am I missing something?

He's a rapper - America is even more enamoured of rap than this country is - why would him charting be a big deal?

Do every single one of your posts really have to be digs towards urban music ? We get the point now

It's not a difference that can be easily explained, they're just two completely different styles of music.

That wasn't a dig - it is a fact.

Rap is bigger in America than in the UK.

This. <_<

It's really starting to annoy me, as you go on-and-on about it without any valid reasons. Do you actually like any music?

 very, very, very, VERY obvious difference. ;) I'm surprised people cant tell, the whole language is basically different

I don't think there is, but I've seen it happen to other songs before. Like there's the single version, then everyone suddenly buys the identical album version when it's released.

As klumzee said, its due to the album selling really well and people clicking the album having a look and buying the album version instead. Rolling in the Deep was #3 combined anyway I think so good to see it back at #3. :) Hopefully climbs to #2 with Kesha falling. Nice to see Grenade back on top!

Wonderman #18 :o :D Go tinie! Great guy and great artist! No doubt top 3 at the least.

I'm talking in general.. Not just about that one post

Fair enough you dislike rap, but it's becoming quite tedious reading the same digs again and again

In fact I like almost any music *except* rap, which, since you seem to monitor my posts so closely, I'd have thought you'd have known.

As for 'valid reasons' my reasons are valid to *me*. I assume you don't have any problems with me excercising my freedom of speech? Just as it's your prerogative to disagree with me, for whatever reason.

Then in that case, surely you can appreciate the boredom I feel, hearing rap every time I turn on the radio, or the Sky music channels.

Vidcapper's tedious hate of urban music becomes even more tedious (somehow)....give it a rest.

I don't know how many posts from vidcapper I've read that don't include any hate for urban music. Probably only 1 or 2.

There's an easy way of getting around this. Don't listen to it.

No, I will *not* accept any attempt to suppress my freedom of speech - If you don't like what I type, you'll just have to ignore it!

Can we just stop this now - I really only checked in to see if there were any more YTD sales requests...

Try reading my YTD sales threads - there's none there. :)
