Wow, Kylie fans are getting bitter... if I'm not mistaken the initial question was whether her or Travie's presence on the single version of "Higher" was what was boosting its sales this week. Although increased promotion and exposure may have seen the solo version rise anyway, the answer is yes. The profile of the two featured artists is almost certainly convincing people to buy the track.

 

The other thing people are asking is whether Kylie is still as relevant and powerful a chart act as Taio Cruz. On the singles market, the answer is a resounding no - the figures for the "Aphrodite" era show this. The albums market is a different story, the relative underperformance of "Aphrodite" is greatly outstripped by the baffling repeated flopping of "Rokstarr" with every new single that is released. Is Kylie as relevant as Taio today? Arguably no. Will Taio be getting platinum albums in fifteen or twenty years time? Probably no, but that wasn't an issue until the Kylie loons started to get shirty.

Yeah Chipmunk is #7 combined he's already around 4th fair to say i think he'll get number one.

Champion is doing much much better than I thought. Chris Brown with 2 songs in the top 10. Buzzjack won't like that :lol:

Chip & Chris will definietly be number 1 next week. Modestep is at 64, it will make top twenty and Eric Prydz is at 147, he will only get top 30, a flop by his standards :(

I'll just be happy if Modestep can go top 40. This whole dubstep revolution thing isn't taking off awfully fast, first Nero missed the top 10 and now Modestep are hardly setting the charts alight either. Ah well, I'll give it some time :lol: They're up to #64 now.

 

Magnetic Man & John Legend are at #167. Hopefully this can climb a bit more, it's their best single yet IMO.

You can't really compare how much the song is going to sell based on how fast it gets to Number 1
