LOL, it didn't did half as well as expected, face it. It didn't even reach #1 at the HOT 100 and its sales in the US, and in most of the planet, were nothing to write home about, especially considering how well their previous singles sold. The SuperBowl halftime perf, which was watched by 75% of the US population, will prob help the song sales but still...

I wasn't even sure it'd get #1 until like 5 days before it got to #1 or something. I remember thinking Willow would beat it.

We were on page 13, the first post on it is britster's post that Lady GaGa appeared at #21. It was 3 hours ago... LOL

TT(DB) went to #1 on US iTunes for the first time after Super Bowl although it didn't stay there for long.

 

TT(DB) did underperform (as did The Beginning obviously) but I don't think it's fair to call them flops just yet. The Beginning was obviously rushed out, if they spend some time on album 7 it'll probably be a lot better and more successful I'm sure. And TT(DB) wasn't exactly a flop itself, it was still a big hit worldwide and would be considered massive if it wasn't unfortunately timed right after what was possibly one of the biggest eras for any band ever...

 

I'm starting to look like Eric Blob here with all these long(ish) posts I'm writing, especially as this one is defending the BEPs from flop allegations :lol:

Oh, they're not flops. It's just naive to think they're on the same level of popularity as Lady Gaga currently. Or to think they're close to being the biggest acts of the planet right now. They don't have good first week sales, they don't have a stable fanbase, their new album underperformed and they had to cancel plans of a stadium tour so there... not exactly the biggest. Still extremely popular of course.
