Assuming the release time of 2pm today (11th) is correct (*), how long do you think it'll take to go #1 (assuming it will, of course).

(*) Although the poll will still be valid whenever it's actually released.

Longer than 48 hours.

I think it'll take around 4 days at the very least. It might do it quicker but I don't think it will. Seems like another case of almost everyone on BuzzJack greatly exaggerating how fast a song will climb (see also 'Hold It Against Me' which abjectly failed to 'crash iTunes under sheer downloading power')

I've literally heard nothing about 'Born This Way' outside of this forum by the way.

Though perhaps 'Price Tag' offers a counter-example to that theory?

Though Lady G is hardly low-profile girl, so spreading the word won't be a problem. :P

Price Tag was around on the internet for months before its release. Even the B.o.B version had been available for several weeks. There is still no one who's heard Born This Way. There's a slight difference.

True - but there's also a slight difference in how well known Lady G is... :P

There's a pretty good chance I'll like her new song, as I haven't heard one of her songs I haven't liked, yet.

Ugh the new song is not her best, it sounds EXACTLY like Express Yourself

From the context, I take it you don't consider that a good thing. ;)

I've now heard it, and while the intro does sound similar, the rest doesn't, to me.

It's no 'Pokerface' though.

I'm sure the Madonna fans are gonna go in hard though

It also sounds like When Love Takes Over, thats just me, and the production overcrowds her voice

I think overall it'll peak at #4 - #3

It's no 'Pokerface' though.

Thank god, I still think that song is a pile of poo

Just heard it on Radio 1. It's okay, quite catchy. Will be No.1 on I-Tunes later today.

Apple is sending an email to EVERYONE in the entire world who has ever bought a Lady GaGa song on iTunes, reminding them to buy her new single.

It'll definitely be #1 pretty quickly- 14 hours maybe?

12-24 hours, assuming it is released at 2pm, as I don't think it will do it by 11pm ish tonight (so it'll be stuck at whatever position it is then - prob somewhere in the top 10 - until the morning), but it could gather enough steam tomorrow morning to do it.

That depends if people actually WANT to buy it though.

Reaction so far has been very mixed (I would say quite bad, but "haters" tend to be louder than lovers, and the "haters" are going crazy with the Madonna rip-off angle on this one)... I do think it will be #1 on iTunes by tomorrow but I can actually see it dropping off quite sharpish, probably falling off as we go into next week.

Personally I think it's very very poor...

I'm really surprised by all the negative reaction, I assume everyone was expecting that Lady Gaga would create a masterpiece, yes it's been bigged up ALOT, and I can maybe see some people being slightly underwhelmed, but it's still a great feel good song, which is strongly influenced by Madonna, who Gaga has always said she is influenced by.

I personally love it, and expect/hope for it to do well. Not too effect this weeks chart, I think it's way too late for that, but definitely a contender for next weeks Number One!

Really? The melody is pretty much an exact copy in places. I presume it was supposed to be a Madonna nod but frankly I think it's crossed the line into rip-off territory.

I wonder what Madonna song is next for the Gaga treatment... Alejandro was La Isla Bonita mixed with Ace of Base, this is Express Yourself and a bit Vogue in parts...

I Chose 12-24 Hours.

Its getting quite a lot of airplay today. I read somewhere before that Radio 1 (Fearne Cotton) played it twice Back-to-Back earlier this morning. :o

More than 48 hours. I'm not sure there is enough hype for it. She will reach #1 later though a la 'Bad Romance'.
I think it sounds like a Disney-esque insperational song that you would get towards the end of a movie. It's not terrible, it's an alright song, but it hasn't jumped at me straight away like i thought it might do. Be warned though if you say you don't love the song/think its the best song ever written, failure to do so will get you called a hater by the Gaga loon's. Gotta love an abusive inbox message on facebook :D
