All those who accuse Lady GaGa of:, 'Ripping off Madonna's 'Express Yourself',

have a HUGE flaw in their argument.

 

That 1989 Madonna Hit actually sampled - and was heavily influenced by -

'Respect Yourself', a 1971 USA No.12 Hit for the Staples Singers. So, the

1989 Madonna Hit was no more 'original', than the sounds in Lady GaGa's

Hit!

 

I don't think that the New Lady GaGa Single is her best, but, there will

be better things on her Album. There will be 3 or 4 more Singles from it.

No. The Video was filmed in January, no word ATM about the Video Premiere...

First listen and i found it instantly to be a grower. I am already on my second listen. Getting such a good vibe from this new era already. Long wait till may but here's hoping it's worth it. Can't wait to see the video. I hope it isn't ridiculously long like her last 2 videos.

After two listens, I'd probably rank BTW behind Bad Romance, but it's a really charming song that is refreshing in this day and age. For once I'm connecting! ^_^

I was expecting something to blow me a way after all that friggin hype. It's alright. Probably will grow but way below the likes of Bad romance and Just Dance. Im disappointed.

Ripping off Madonna and basically stealing the cover art for Kylies 2 hearts. Jeesh where has her originality gone?

I like GaGa.... but Born This Way sounds like a crushingly average Madonna single, there's no getting away from it.... and a Madonna single from one of her crappy eras.... maybe Hard Candy.

 

I'd love the single more if there was no singing on it to be honest - love the electro-y bits.... it's just the Madonna impersonation I find a bit ewwwww.

I agree with others opinions that it's a grower and as well as the comparisons wih 'Express Yourself' I can also hear similarities to 'Waterfalls' by TLC in the verses.

Just had a listen to 'Born This Way' and overall it's ok but the "don't be a drag, just be a queen" really does grate. -_-

It's an embarrassing attempt at creating an "iconic" lyric to place itself in pop culture. But instead it just comes across as a massive fail and ends up being laughable.

 

I hate this the more I listen to it, so I'm just going to avoid it from now on. Shame it's selling so much on hype alone... how much the song sticks around will be the big test as to how popular it is with the public, as with most songs like this.

I'm normally against female pop and specifically female pop dominating the chart, so I understand that :lol: Although I have a soft spot for Lady GaGa and also Rihanna when she doesn't attempt slow songs which she CANNOT do (Unfaithful aside). I also have no aversions to Katy Perry aside from her 2 dreadful lead singles.

 

Sorry, starting to blab here. BTW is pretty good on first listen, not mind-blowing like the hype would suggest but what song could live up to that hype to be fair... it'll probably grow on me.

I'm so curious about the video, as always with a Gaga vid, she has so much pressure on her though with her songs and video's :lol: She's set herself such a high standard!

she is obviously going to have a big hit with this, but is poor quality in comparrison to her last batch of singles is clear, so i would not be surprised if this era will be her last successful one. by the time her third album comes along people will be over her fugly face, tragic clothes and copycat music
