July 29, 200620 yr I liked 'Hips Don't Lie' in the beginning, but now I'm sooooooooooooooooo friggin' sick to death of it already!! :arrr: :arrr: No way did it deserve #1 if 'Whenever, Wherever' and 'Underneath Your Clothes' couldn't get it.
July 29, 200620 yr   i LOVE the performance... i think i prefer the live version to the studio version!! her singing is NOTE perfect, AMAZING vocals!! she SO deserves the number 1... :cheer:
July 29, 200620 yr She deserves #1 for sure, her song is original and unlike anything else out there at the moment. Shakira's song is nothing more than your usual rent a rapper sellout song you'd get out of the US normally, she's capable of far better.
July 29, 200620 yr Your post is a joke. The reason the song is getting no airplay IS BECAUSE IT'S DIFFERENT and new.
July 29, 200620 yr Your post is a joke. The reason the song is getting no airplay IS BECAUSE IT'S DIFFERENT and new. When did he mention ANYTHING about airplay?
July 29, 200620 yr Your post is a joke. The reason the song is getting no airplay IS BECAUSE IT'S DIFFERENT and new. Oh please, you know as well as I do that she released it in a desperate bid to boost her career as it's typically the type of thing the US lap up. But it's done it's job I suppose... She had to re-release her album with this song on it, doesn't that say it all? Edited July 29, 200620 yr by Aly
July 29, 200620 yr And before anyone attacks me for my above post, I like Shakira and own two albums by her.
July 29, 200620 yr HDL is not just a rent-a-rapper type song, if it had snoop or nelly as rappers then it would have been but wyclef is a respected song writer and producer, this is a quality collaboration he wanted to work with her cause he loved 'la tortura' and it shows he raps about how they are both from 3rd world countries (you wouldn't get that from snoop or nelly) they do have an authentic connection and you believe wyclef when he sings/raps about shakira, i think people feel that its quality and different thats why its doing so well and works so well
July 29, 200620 yr O.F V2 has to be one of the worst re-releases I've ever come across, I love the album, it is excellent imo but to re-release it with one proper album track? It just comes across as a ploy for money, particularly the way Sony handled the releasing of the digital download in the US. She should have added more tracks and mabye she would have had more single choices, that said Animal City HAS to be single #3. She needs to stop riding on the success of HDL and decide -_-
July 29, 200620 yr Animal City's Single version is considerably different to the album's version. They scrapped all the animals and arabian music for violins. And I think if Shakira creates anymore songs between now and the next album, it'll probably be added to a re-release of Fijacion Oral Volume 1 or with a tour DVD/greatest hits album.
