Posted July 25, 200619 yr Female acts battle for top slot The singles market looks likely to witness a four-way battle of the females for the number one spot this week, with just a few hundred sales separating Shakira, Rihanna, Lily Allen and Christina Aguilera, according to early retail reports. Leading the crop is Shakira's Hips Don't Lie (Epic), which, if it holds on to the number one position, would see a return to number one after a three-week absence. Christina Aguilera's Ain't No Other Man (RCA) is climbing into the top five after entering at 18 on downloads last week, as is Madonna's Get Together (Warner Bros), who is fighting for a top five placing with Kasabian's Empire (Columbia), released physically, digitally and to radio yesterday. Other likely new entries come from Pet Shop Boys (Parlophone), Paris Hilton (Warner Bros) and Forward, Russia! (Dance to The Radio), while Supermoode (Data), Snow Patrol (Fiction), Ray Lamontagne (14th Floor) and Feeder look likely to climb significantly. In the albums market, Now That's What I Call Music! 64 (EMI Virgin/UMTV) has got off to its expected strong start, after selling close to 60,000 copies on its day of release yesterday (July 24), eclipsing the sales tally of the number one artist album by Razorlight by some distance. Razorlightt and Lily Allen look likely to retain the top two positions in the artist album chart, despite witnessing a week on week sales decrease of more than 30% apiece. Pharrell Williams' much-delayed album In My Mind (Virgin) is on course to debut within the Top Ten, while fellow solo debutant James Dean Bradfield's the Great Western (Columbia) looks destined to settle just outside the chart's upper tier. Other likely new entries in the album chart come from Rogue Traders (Ariola), Tom Petty (Warner Bros), Bullet For My Valentine (Visible Noise), The Sleepy Jackson (Virgin) and Jurassic 5 (Interscope). July 25, 200619 yr I'm gonna say something against the tide of opinion. My guess is that Christina will not to be #1, but instead Shakira!
July 25, 200619 yr Author I reckon James Morrison will do a James Blunt stylee and climb to No.1, with Christina at#2 As for the albums, Razorlight for a second week
July 25, 200619 yr I don't think James Morrison will climb, I don't see why a lot of people are saying he will. I think Christina or Rihanna for #1.
July 25, 200619 yr I reckon James Morrison will do a James Blunt stylee and climb to No.1, with Christina at#2 If this does happen, at least it would make the chart less predictable. But still, Chrstina HAS to be #1, and I'm convinced she can get it. :cheer:
July 25, 200619 yr 1 Christina 2 Rhinna 3 Shakira 4 James Morrisson 5 McFly This is what i think...........

July 25, 200619 yr I think McFly will fall to the very bottom of the top 10, if not falling out of it altogether.
July 25, 200619 yr I think McFly will fall to the very bottom of the top 10, if not falling out of it altogether. think it might be one of the shortest number ones ever. might even go 1 - 12 - 41 - out
July 25, 200619 yr :o thats exactly what i was going to say :D ^_^ ive been saved the extra typing!!!! Great minds think alike!!!!!!!! :yahoo:
July 25, 200619 yr 1 Christina 2 Rihanna 3 Shakira 4 James Morrison 5 McFly This is what i think........... Just about what I was thinking  Though MAYBE Christina and Rihanna might swap
July 25, 200619 yr What's going to be today's highest new entry? Madonna - Get Together or The Who - rehearses for the Wire & Glass-tour or Pet Shop Boys - Minimal OR someone else, Kasbain perhaps?
July 25, 200619 yr 1. Christina 2. Rihanna 3. Shakira 4. James Morrison 5. Lily Allen 6. Rogue Traders 7. McFly 8. Madonna 9. Nelly Furtado 10. Gnarls Barkley My Predictions!
July 25, 200619 yr I think McFly will fall to the very bottom of the top 10, if not falling out of it altogether. I was thinking this one one could hang around a bit longer, maybe fall to no5, but I'm always wrong with my predictions.
July 25, 200619 yr I reckon Christina will scrape into #1 - I think it will go; 1. Christina 2. Rihanna 3. Shakira and I think the figures will be close - I think Shakira may even climb to 2. I also reckon Kasabian will debut somewhere in the top 30, hopefully top 20.
