Bought both the original and the BRITs version. It'd be such a feat to get to #1 without any airplay, radio play or promotion besides one performance whatsoever.

Wow, I had no idea SLY was doing so well. I never thought there would be a serious challenger this week that I would actually want to beat Gaga to #1.

Adele is still #2, the feed hasn't un-reverted yet.

OMFG at the Gaga "backlash" already after ONE real album and being solidfied as the new and better Madonna x1000! LOL. For real though, her song was as NON #1 worthy...maybe not even top 5 worthy (I'll stop there lol), as Black Eyed Peas Time Of My Life, yet their song was SUPER lucky it was released when it was and there was like zero competition. Thing w/ Gaga is the song was 'that' weak and people and the media are putting it through a paper shredder WAY more than even the BEP song (case the expectations for BTW were MJ, Madonna, Prince like levels). I dont even think it woulda mattered "that much" if they didnt releaase it Fri. The difference of a few days here I think are clearly showing now, that it wouldnt have made a signifcant difference. I actually kind of feel bad for gaga. She doesnt seem like mean, wicked witch like diva (X-Tina, Jlo etc..) but she REALLY should of done better than this lol.

The Black Eyed Peas song was called "The Time", and it didn't really have "no competition". It almost got beaten to #1 by Whip My Hair by Willow, so it had to sell over 80,000 to get its #1, I believe. Some other songs last year got #1 with under 50,000 sales (Good Times, Gettin' Over You and almost Dynamite if I remember correctly). Plus, it was a great song (imo)!

 

Talking about Gettin' Over You, that song got to #1 on iTunes on like the Thursday or Friday and got #1 officially, I think.

Well obviously she will get number one next week then! Pity had she not released it on friday she would be top. Well Btw has sold over 110k sales in 6days! Not really as good as what i expected.

Looking at the pop bars would be really interesting, thing is we know Adele has a comfortable lead at #1 with both combined, would just be so nice to see her at #1 with the live version soon! :heart:

For Born This Way to be doing this well with only radio airplay still astounds me though. I mean, I know she is established, but Jessie had the video out as soon as the song came out, and she is a new, much hyped artist. So she will obviously do amazingly well. ADELE, on the other hand, seems to have become the new nations sweetheart. Her new album has been plugged a tonne, and her performance at the BRITS cemented her chances for number one.

 

I want GaGa at number one. Born This Way is a beautiful song, and to me, holds so much more meaning than the other two.

 

And the GaGa 'backlash'? What? I don't think so, it's just a lot of casual listeners have not had the chance to hear it yet. As soon as the video comes out, I think everything will change.

Why are people saying 110k in 4.5 days aren't as good as what they were expecting? It hasn't even been a week yet, give it time! :lol:
