You think Taylor's songs are better than Adeles? Taylor's songs are for her fanbase (4-14 LOL)! You Belong With Me? Love Story? For every little girl who lives in her Barbie world! Imo, there is no need for comparison! Adele wins without competitor!

This point kinda fails, since the Taylor Swift fan you were talking to certainly isn't a 4-14 year old girl. Neither am I, and I am a massive Taylor fan.

I prefer most of Taylor's songs, and I prefer her voice, but the performance of SLY was indeed stunning.

ADELE >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> ... >>>>>>>>>>>>>> ... >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Taylor Swift

ADELE has a much better voice, can sing better songs and doesn't sing country. She is better!

cmon lets do away w/ "taylor swift" debates lmao and get back to the iTunes KILLER domination ADELLE has! Even just a day ago I was still stringly feeling Gaga still somehow had this won, but Adelle I think is "this" close (right now- with still 1 or 2 days left) to #1 Sun.

Of course and it fails! I was overreacting but i still think that her major fanbase is around 10-18! Still not sure! Never cared what is her fans age!

Anyway my point is that they can't be compared just because they categorize as both ballad singers by someone!

Okay:

Some people prefer Taylor Swift.

Some people prefer Adele.

Anyway, I'd like Adele to get #1. It'd make up for You Got the Dirtee Love missing out last year.

Why are people even comparing Taylor Swift and Adele? They're completely different. The only similarity is they're both female vocalists.

I love both Adele and T-Swift, but:

Adele >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Taylor.

Taylor has never made a song as beautiful as Someone Like You, and her albums are all flawed (strong, but flawed) whereas both of Adele's albums are at least brilliant (19 is brilliant, a weak track or two stops it being perfect, but 21 is actually one of those perfect albums!)

We haven't had one of those popularity bar type thingies for a while. Would be interesting to see if 'Our Adele' is maintaining her momentum. Anyone clever enough to do one (I'm not :( )? TIA!
What has Taylor Swift or Adele Got to go with the Itunes! We should defo make a comparing thread, it seems that's all most people do in this thread.. me included i guess.

I have no idea why Taylor Swift was suddenly brought up, but hey ho

anyway, Wow! at Adele's combined lead- it may be quite front-loaded like FloDiz was last year, but if it gets more airplay and the album version hold up then it could at least get number 1 next week

Adele could have two songs in the Top5 on Sunday.

Looking at today do you feel that now Adele has a good chance of having two songs in the Top5 on Sunday?

Adele's lead is MASSIVE when combined, about twice the size of Jessie J's bar:

(The little black line is where the album version of SLY was, before combining)

I just have to ask though - where were all you ballad fans when Taylor Swift was releasing even better songs?

You're DEFINITELY joking.

Ballads still sell. :yahoo: :w00t:

That lead is huge, its not majorly front loaded I think, as its still progressing and its now thursday evening and performance was Tuesday evening, as long as it continues to keep this lead all through Saturday it'll get #1 (fingers crossed), and HOPEFULLY word of mouth can keep it at #1. Please be Adele's first #1, has she even had a single #1 on iTunes before?

As one of the BIGGEST Gaga fans around, im happy that she may lose out on the #1 spot to Adele.

I feel the single, like every single other #1 that Gaga has had will eventually rise to the #1, given how epic her videos usually are. Gaga has never debuted at #1, it usually takes a couple of weeks (Bad Romance debuted at #14 and went on to be one of her biggest hits). Because of that, i think Adele will make a good #1 this week after her Brit performance, and Gaga can continue to dominate in the coming weeks/months

Born This Way

I think if Adele DOES get number 1 and this amazing performance starts getting any sort of decent airplay, I wouldn't be so confident that GaGa will take over from her anytime soon. This song could end up being another Love Is All Around Me (only way better!).

I agree with bellboys, once Adele gets airplay I can honestly see her getting at least 2 weeks at number 1s!

I hope Gaga doesnt get number 1 with BTW, its doesnt deserve it. I cant see the video making much difference. Its all very samey with Gaga, people are getting fed up with her now.

People are getting fed up with her now? LOL The women who made history and made #1 on every iTunes store. That point really has nothing behind it. -_-

Pleased that SLY album version isnt dropping yet, still #4. :D

Rolling in the Deep shoul;d be #6 too (#2-#3-#5-#5-#6 )

The thing about SLY (especially live) is, even though it's not what you could call a catchy pop song, it makes an instant reaction with somebody hearing it for the first time. Then, because it's not a catchy pop song, it seems to get better with repeated plays and the boredom threshold for most people with this seems to be almost non-existent (you only have to look at the comments on the youtube clip of thsi and the Jools Holland version - people profess to watching it over and over again without getting bored!). In that sense it's a phenomenon
