Oh yes, that's true, I suppose. Although it's the same song by different artists.

Well it was song that you said, before asking whether an artist has done it :P

Livehits is always wrong. It was totally wrong before a couple of times in the US iTunes thread...

Is 'Born This Way' really down to #8? I know iTunes has a 48 hour rolling chart so if that's the case then hardly anybody has been buying the song in the last 24 hours for that to happen.

Looks like it's definitely wrong judging from others comments.

Wow, BTW is falling, not even a week on #1.

Go ADELE!

I will DIE is SLY gets number 1! As much I love Gaga (more than Adele, as Gaga is my fave singer ever), Adele has had 2 number 2s now, and both were fantastic songs that I thought would/deserved to be number 1, and this song is so beautiful, I really want it to be number 1 as it won't have another chance yet Gaga will (when the vid is out).
It's pretty ridiculous. I still listen to 10/20 year old songs and have for ages, and I'm still not bored of them.

Sure, there are songs that get boring after a while, but 2 weeks?

I can't speak for everyone who's saying these things, but for me, I don't like it when a song hangs around in the chart for ages. Especially towards the top end. If it's a song I love, I can just about tolerate it. Like with Price Tag, I'm not bored of the song itself, but I would like to see a different #1.

And Born This Way being down to #8 is literally impossible in this space of time, isn't it? Even if it was made "album only" (I know it's not on an album btw) on iTunes, I don't think it could fall that fast...

Unless an incredibly large amount of people bought the track in the past 10 minutes 48 hours ago...

i hope adele gets to #1. her music is much better than gaga's new song (more creative and emotional). I'm glad with Adele's success! Totally deserved

I don't like songs hanging around for ages either but I love long-running #1s! I hope to watch someone break Bryan Adams' record of 16 consecutive weeks one day (as long as they drop down the charts post haste immediately after).

So for me, an ideal #1 run would be something like 1-1-1-2-5-10-12-16-19-25-36-35-40... a few weeks at #1, not dropping TOO fast afterwards, but not TOO slow either. This is actually a real #1 run, btw, anyone guess which song? :funky: (it's not that difficult, really)

Adele should get number one easily now tbh!

Can't believe how bad gaga has dropped!

She's only dropped to #3?
You have to admit that going from 2x lead to 3 within a week is quite a drop!

But wait, there's more!

1. GaGa - Born This Way

2. Jessie J - Price Tag

3. Adele - Somone Like You (Live at Brits)

4. Adele - Someone Like You (Album version)

5. Adele - Rolling in the Deep

LOL. I think word has gotten round the GaGa community that their idol was struggling! Fascinating battle - the regimented GaGa-ists and the much less regimented (but larger in number) GB public, lol.

No, iTunes has just reverted.

Beyonce- Crazy In Love? wow I thought that song would've had a bit more longevity :o

anyway, it must be REALLY close between those pop bars :o Adele surely must be number 1 combined now, so as Price Tag has already had two weeks, Adele for number 1! :D

No, iTunes has just reverted.

Yeah, I think that's what it is, because all the other live BRITs tracks have "fallen" too.

Although I could've actually imagined that happening, since Lady Gaga has a very devoted fanbase! :D

No, iTunes has just reverted.

Being a chart non-expert, could you please explain this? TIA!

Right! And there wasn't much sticking around in 2003 - it actually lasted somewhat decently for a #1 back then! But in the modern context that wouldn't particularly be a long-running #1, so I'd like more #1s like that these days please.

Although other #1s from 2003 like t.A.T.u. and the Black Eyed Peas stuck around in the top 10 for much longer once they dropped off, but then they fell faster once they left the top 10 so it all evens out in the end, I guess.

EDIT: Actually what am I talking about with t.A.T.u.! I just checked and they only lasted two more weeks in the top 10 after! Shouldn't rely on my memory.

I like how Adele takes up #3-5

Gaga fans will be in turmoil...no #1
