Wow, that's really unlucky for Miley. :( Plus, some people here are dieing for a song that can sell so consistently. It would've got like 6 weeks at #1 using our chart rules, but it didn't get any.

 

I'm pretty gutted about I Need a Doctor from last week aswell. That would've been #1 if it was based on sales only, but the airplay pushed it down to #5. :(

According to this, LTWYL sold 338,000 to chart at #2 one week. It was only #34 on the airplay chart, had no video at all and was not announced as a single at the time! :o

Wow, did it sell that much!?! :o I doubt it'll even go top 40 in the UK, let alone #1! :lol:

 

The airplay thing can be a bit annoying though, since it keeps songs at #1 for AGES sometimes, which can be really annoying. And you get songs returning to #1 a lot, and artists having their #1s overlap and stuff.

I don't know about the chart runs in the US tbh. Like Live Your Life's chart run was 80-1-3-2-2-1-1-1-1-2-1-2-2-3-3-4-4-7-8- and so on. I mean, yes Live Your Life is incredible. But 18 weeks in the top 10? That's longer than Love the Way You Lie and I Gotta Feeling lasted in the UK's top 10, and look how frustrated people got with those.

 

Or do we want songs like Boom Boom Pow having chart runs like this? 1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-1-2-2-3-6-7-8-10- and so on. I love the song, but one week for it is fine, and more interesting imo. Seriously, if we had like the US, with Ke$ha at #1 for 2 months, or with Grenade having 3 seperate runs at #1, or with T.I. holding the #1 and #2 spot on the chart for 2 months, people here would be furious.

:mellow: Lady Gaga's popularity bar has decreased quite significantly since I last looked! Hopefully Jessie will overtake by Sunday. ^_^

 

I just checked this morning, and Lady G still has a 50% lead, though.

 

In any case, in order to hold on to #1, Jessie would need to over take her by Weds at the latest, not Sunday...

I heard Black and Yellow for the first time on the radio yesterday, actually! It was on Radio 1. He also said he "this is gonna be huge soon", or something along those lines. :D I think it has a good chance at #1.

 

Although I did think the same about Like a G6, and whilst it was undeniably massive, it only got to #5... :(
