April 21, 201114 yr SC says he has quit because of the schedule and cannot do both UK & US X-Factor shows. ITV don't want this so why don't they re-schedule UK X-Factor to the Late January - April/May slot. Same as AI They must think it's more important that the X-Factor winner will not get to #1 unless it is Christmas. Also I think that Dermot O'Dreary should be shipped off as well as long as they didn't replace him with even more childish Ant & Dec Edited April 21, 201114 yr by euro music
April 21, 201114 yr reading whats being said, its just more speculation really. I dont think america will take to cheryl tbh. Well UK took to $h!tney Spears even though she's a talentless $l*t
April 21, 201114 yr Well UK took to $h!tney Spears even though she's a talentless $l*t Ah yes, I forgot how well recieved Britney was as a judge on the UK version of X Factor, I think she is the favourite judge of everyone in the country :P
April 21, 201114 yr I really don't know why Chezza's ditching the UK for the US... As much as I love her, the US won't take to her, but the UK generally love her as an XF judge so she should just count herself lucky there!
April 22, 201114 yr The sooner it's gone from my screen the better. She's turned into such a dire judge, the American's can keep her
April 22, 201114 yr nothing's been confirmed yet- I still can't see why they'd let Cheryl be a judge when she's largely unknown there I'm glad Simon's gone- he was starting to irritate me a bit, Cheryl going with him would be marvellous Edited April 22, 201114 yr by chart wizard
April 22, 201114 yr In complete contrast to previous predictions, it would appear as though QUEEN DANNII will be the ONLY judge in the next series. :D
April 22, 201114 yr I'm not going to complain over a total shake-up - it did American Idol wonders! J-Lo and Stephen are honestly better judges than Simon, Ellen, Kara or Paula ever were tbh, and hopefully the same will happen for XF!

J-Lo and Stephen are honestly better judges than Simon, Ellen, Kara or Paula ever were tbh, and hopefully the same will happen for XF! Exactly. This years American Idol is by far the best producers Idol series so far (and far better than all series of the X-Factor!). Steven & (surprisingly), J.Lo are fantastic judges! A lot of hard work goes on behind the scenes; mentored by famous musicians/producers like Will.i.am, Gwen Stefani, Darkchild, Timbaland, Tricky Stewart, and of course, Jimmy Iovine. The artists are aloud a lot of creative freedom and the public have been exposed to a wide range of different performances from many different musicians/genres of music (The Beatles, Charlie Chaplin, Janis Joplin, Nirvana, Muse, etc.). The show has benefited hugely from Simon leaving it.

If not, it's a slight coincidence Nirvana, Muse and more are all suddenly used within a few weeks of each other when the most edgy they dared go before was Kelly Clarkson :P Hopefully without Simon on this year's XF there'll be a lot Whitney/Mariah/Celine! I think it would be fantastic just to get a more diverse judging panel. Take X-Factor. We have Simon Cowell, his claim to fame being the release of many novelty singles throughout the 90's, his music preferences being Whitney & Mariah. Cheryl Cole - ... to be honest, let's not even go there. Louis Walsh - only has experience with boy bands and Dannii Minogue, fair play to her she's the only judge that gives constructive criticism, yet she doesn't have that life long experience of working within the music industry. Whereas with American Idol, it now has the help of Jimmy Iovine, Chairman of Interscope-Geffen-A&M records, has worked with acts such as Bruce Springsteen, John Lennon, U2, Patti Smith, and is credited for passing Eminem's mix-tape/demo to Dr. Dre resulting in him being signed and of course, "discovering" Lady GaGa. Steven Tyler, who has been within the music industry now for over 40 years, is the front man of the biggest Rock n Roll band in American histor, has more musical knowledge and experience than the entire X-Factor panel put together, and of course Jennifer Lopez (who I do not rate much), but has had an extremely successful career in music, films and fashion, and am sure is just as good as Simon Cowell when creating your own buisness empire. I heard reports that Ozzy Osbourne was being considered for the X-Factor judging panel. The lead musician who fronted the first ever heavy metal band? Brilliant idea if you ask me.
April 22, 201114 yr yeah i agree with josh and tbh i think the x factor needs a big clear out in terms of judges, the only one i would keep is Dannii, Simon isn't as good as he used to be, Cheryl is $h!t and Louis Walsh has lost the plot. Ozzy would be a great addition but i'm not sure he'd do it with Sharons distaste for Dannii. Someone like him would be amazing though. Someone who knows about managing an artist would be a good choice, uhm someone young either male or female who is hot right now and someone who has been in the industry performing for years. I'd love to see Frankie Sanford as a judge, i'd hate to see Gary Barlow as a judge. I also think the focus needs to be more on the acts than on the judges.
April 22, 201114 yr Steve D's last point is right, I think the whole trick that's made the AI shuffle work so well is that Steven and Jennifer are big enough celebs to draw in new audiences, keep ratings up and bring hype but not so big it becomes all about them a la Cheryl/Simon.
April 23, 201114 yr Author I wouldn't want to see anymore celebrities as a judge. They need someone who is a producer or manager/agent.
April 26, 201114 yr Good riddance! ... but how did she manage to get herself a US visa, despite having a criminal conviction? :o
April 26, 201114 yr it says over in the GA forum. Although not 100% certain Simon has revealed the US line up as him, LA Reid (or what ever his name is), Paula Abdul and Cheryl.
