4Music top 10 hits - Number 1 Adele - Someone Like You

It's on mtv hits, smash hits.

I'm glad born this way is falling, I'm not a hater of gaga I love her music but I just don't like it. But on the same note congrats to her for breaking all those records I can't deny it is very impressive, especially for a poor song so I have to congratulate her for that.
Off topic I know, but according to the Mirror this morning Jessie J's album has already gone gold on advance shippings.

That would be incredible... not sure it'll be true though, a similar source said Muse's "The Resistance" had gone 3x platinum in a couple of weeks when it's not even on that now.

Advance shippings just means what's been sent to be sold. Given how huge she is at the moment I'd be worried if they hadn't shipped 100k, I'd be very surprised if she doesn't clear that within a fortnight....

I have to agree with you, BTW is the one Lady Gaga song which doesn't deserve to be #1 simply because the song was based on hype and when you listen to the song, it's clearly not her best in terms of her past other lead singles which were more worthy for the top spot.

Let's face it, at the moment just about everybody is an Adele fan. Factoid.

No. Not everyone, I think she is totally overhyped and for no good reason. Her songs are average at best.

Champion is holding up quite well, still in the top 5 on iTunes nearly 3 weeks after release - something tells me it wouldn't have been a non-#1 had it got there anyway. This year is looking promising so far in terms of not having any non-#1s, nine weeks in and all the #1s have been genuinely big hits (aside from maybe Ke$ha but that seems to now be holding up fairly well in the top 20 so it could rack up a decent sales total in time)

Who's That Chick?'s longevity is incredible, it's still at #13 after three full months in the top 20 :o

She's actually immensely talented. I didn't really even like her til Rolling In The Deep, now I love her  Jessie J on the other hand... :kink:

Ditto to that Adele is what has been missing from pop in awhile a huge voice with no autotune, no rapper features and no miming.Jessie J is overated and her album clips are tedious at best.

I can see Adele is massively talented, but her music is really not my thing at all. 'Rolling in the Deep' is the only song of hers I've ever wanted to listen to out of choice, and I got bored of that after a few spins within a month....

I think the salient words in my post would be just about everyone. And even then it wasn't in any way meant to be statistically serious.

Agreed on all counts - Jessie J is 'different' I guess but she has nowhere near the vocal talent of Adele - hence her record company cleverly taking her down an altogether different route.
