The thing about November is how busy it is :( They should get top 5 though and it being closer to Xmas, the sales should on the whole be higher.

I would imagine an opening week of 25k or so would be in order for this, although the multiple covers could help out a bit.
I doubt it would only sell 25k, considering that would only get them a 11-15ish position and they have 3 singles behind it I'm sure it will sell more than that, who know's i might be wrong though.

Their either going to sail the Christmas market sales wave, or drown in it unfortunately

I don't think it will go top 5 in the slightest I think with it being released during a massive busy period it should peak at around #08 with strong sales of 40,000 and only spending around 6-7 weeks the top 40. Although this depends on the promotion they have for My Heart Takes Over, I hope they put the album up for pre-order soon.

I think dedicated Saturday fans will purchase around 6 copies each arguably more.

I think we will get a good indication on seeing how well My Heart Takes Over does.

I don't think the typical dedicated Saturdays fan has a spare £50+ to spend on the album

Nope. I bought Wordshaker twice (accidentally deleted it from iTunes completely) but that's it. It's getting one buy for me. What's the point in buying more than one copy? It doesn't even make much difference at all. When was the last time an album missed out on a higher position by two or three copies? There's usually always at least a one thousand sales gap between albums at the top of the chart.

I'll be quite frustrated if this only spends six or seven weeks top 40. Ideally this should at least spend a few weeks top ten and go at least platinum. There's no excuses if this fails to reach 300K...everything has been thrown at this album!!

Everything has been thrown into this album, how's is it going to sell 300,000 copies when their singles are struggling to release 200,000. The only thing that could help them is that it's during a busy period.

im going to be gifting this a lot this christmas too..

so

FOR MYSELF

5 x individual slipcases

1 x standard cd

I'm a bit confused.

Aren't the slipcase editions the standard edition with a slipcase OR are the slipcase covers also on the actual cd? In the first case I don't know why anyone would buy a slipcase edition and a standard edition.

It's only 12-13k to get a Top 10 now, and that margin wont change much untill around mid-November. It's not untill the last 2wks of December/first week of January when sales rocket. Yes they climb each week, but not even I think they'd be able to shift 40k in one week. Chasing Lights did 22k first week of release and Headlines did 21k didn't it?

So far I have ordered 2 copies from their site ( when it comes to tour DVDs i play it so many times the disk no longer work so I end up having to buy another copy ), so I thought I might aswell buy 2 so I won't need to pay postage.

I might buy the iTunes version if it has any extras. I can't afford to buy the slip case ones because the Saturdays tour is soon after and I am going to the clothes show the day before the concert, I am seeing Joe in nov and going to Germany in Dec, I still need to buy train tickets for THe SAturdays gigs and I need to buy CHristmas presents.

Well it'll NEED to go at least platinum to be called a success. Wordshaker bombed, Headlines done "alright" (considering it's circumstances) and the majority of their singles have underperformed, this album has been hyped up since 'Notorious', has three singles released, is being released during a high sales period and is supposed to be promoting a tour and leading them into a (supposed) 2012 trip to America. There's been so much money invested into this, they've got a ton of writers writing SPECIALLY for them (unlike Wordshaker and Headlines where they just took leftovers from other artists) and they simply can't afford to have another 200K seller. They've been around for three years now, they're the biggest girl group in the UK and no doubt they'll be on every TV show going when this is released. If this underperforms AGAIN, they won't be dropped (before anyone says that, they don't just make money from record sales) but it'll pretty much mean they've already met their peak and there's been no growth in their fanbase since the Chasing Lights era and they'll end up just sticking to the UK and having the odd 300K single and annual 200K album until they eventually split up/retire.

I just really want this to do well, but it seems like they can never get a break. :(

I'm a Saturdays loon, but I'm only planning on buying 2 copies, and that's only because I can't afford the deluxe fan edition so want that for Christmas, and the Mollie slipcase on the day it's released. Otherwise, I'd buy it only once.

Do all the Saturdays loons shit gold then?

I'll definitely be buying two copies, the deluxe fan edition and a signed individual cover. At maximum I'll also buy the standard edition. I'm quite a loon of The Saturdays but even I'll only be buying three maximum.

The slipcover is just that... a slip cover, lol.

So it'll be the standard CD with a cardboard sleeve it can slot in to. So all the HMV editions have the standard cover on the cd sleeve, it's only the slipcase which is different.

Anyone planning on buying 5/6 copies needs HELP. I could understand if each edition of the album had some content specific to the girl (ie. maybe bonus videos/photos/track by track commentary from the girls) but it's the same album with a different cover.

^

Agreed. Fair enough if you REALLY want to help the girls but I'm a loon and I'm only buying the Vanessa slipcase.
