This proves there's STILL HOPE

(I don't know how you do it, I was ready to call time on ever winning about this time last year)

Yes I'm at 63 contests without a win!

64 actually ~

The countries with the most (40+) entries without a win now:

67 Tinnmark

64 PRoJ

61 Espen

57 Ojnoj

55 Utopia

55 Zechonia (RIP)

48 Bignia-Zaragovina

45 New Lexico

42 Kluminican Republic

42 Unovia

I will miss my record. :')

Nice with a new record, it isn't that much fun with most dnqs

If anyone has a desire to do the stats update then feel free, I can send you over the spreadsheets you need! But if not, just so you know I haven't forgotten about them I'll make sure they are updated before the next contest gets underway! ^_^

Countries to have finished in every position in the top five at least once (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th place on at least one occasion):

#00274E, Daehun, Federal Republic of Ashton, FSR Rontvia, Hendinia, Mdiče, N DNTN & Numayania

Most successful songs (based on percentage of possible points they could have scored from other countries):

01. FSR Rontvia - Sheelah - The Last Time - 49% (BJSC XXXI)

02. Fljótavík - Foxes - Youth - 46.05% (BJSC XLI)

03. Quotosibb - Marina And The Diamonds - Hollywood - 45.9% (BJSC XXIII)

04. Kathaldazia - Eva Simons - Silly Boy - 45.6% (BJSC XIX)

05. Hendinia - Adele - Someone Like You (Live) - 44.6% (BJSC XXX)

06. Ashton - Tone Damli - Look Back - 44.5% (BJSC XLI)

07. Botanikka - Kim Lian feat. Future Presidents - How I Like It - 43.3% (BJSC XXX)

08. FSR Rontvia - Sara Bareilles - Love Song - 43% (BJSC IV)

09. Kopečka - Loreen - Sober - 42.1% (BJSC XXXVIII)

10. Mdiče - Katy Perry - I Kissed a Girl - 42.3% (BJSC VII)

Persephonia officially claim a place among the GREATS in that first list <3

And Sigala by my calculations is #2 on the second list with 46.5% of the available points (477 out of 1,026) - astonishing feat considering the last addition to this list was 35 contests ago :o

Sigala also matched the record for most top scores received (alongside Indila and Courtney Barnett with 10 18s).

Why has Foxes simply been replaced at #2 in the list of most successful entries (as opposed to everything being bumped down a place)?

If I remember rightly when I was updating the stats, Bre rechecked all the percentages for me on his big spreadsheet and found a few of them to be wrong - Foxes was most affected but there were a few other changes too.

It changed quite a while ago, I can't remember the exact details of the changes but Foxes should never have been top 10 I don't think.

Why has Foxes simply been replaced at #2 in the list of most successful entries (as opposed to everything being bumped down a place)?

Oh yeah, about that ~ I recalculated that list a little while back and whoever originally made the calculation for Foxes must have gone wrong somewhere as she was never actually that high. She is actually 11th with 41.67%.

Just so you all know I haven't forgotten about these, after BJSC 81 we were discussing a few possible changes so I didn't get this updated straight away in case it turned out to be pointless but as they have been put on hold for the time being I shall get round to updating this before BJSC 83 next month!

This thread is in the process of being updated right now (just the points tables and chart runs to go), and the archive and spin-off threads are already fully up-to-date. If anyone knows they have broken the improvement/regression records in the past 3 official contests or someone else (Bré ^_^) knows someone has then please do let me know as there's too many numbers involved in those records for poor me to get my head around!

Rykka 'Movies' technically broke the record regression (projected 9th to final 39th) but not sure whether that should really count considering that was after a 33% deduction.

Crystalyne weren't far off the record progression (they went from 40th to 15th).

Nah I wouldn't count that either, although I'll add the fact that songs don't count when deductions are involved.

10 DNQ's in a row, moving dangerously close to that record of most DNQ's in row.

I'd like to point out that K3 are actuslly Belgium and not Dutch :kink:
Pretty sure I put them down as Belgian, they are our first Belgian winners I believe?
