Why is Adele suddenly back at #1, albeit with the other version - surely that can't be entirely due to sales diverting to the album version of Price Tag?

Because it's the album version that's now getting quite a lot of airplay? (#9 on the airplay chart)

 

Anyway, in those pop bars Jessie is only 65.9% of Adele even when combined with her other two versions - the Acoustic Version won't be much help any more either as it's now fallen out of the top 200 and there's a third version of Someone Like You not that far behind it anyway. Looks like Adele will get a third week at #1 and maybe if Wiz Khalifa does fail to get #1 (although I think he'll do it fairly easily) we could finally have a 4-weeker as there are no other major releases next week. This is ignoring the possible effect of Lady GaGa's video(s) but I don't think that's likely to push her all the way to #1, only back up to #3 at the highest.

 

Hmm, anyone else think Do It Like A Dude could get back in the official top 10 this week?

It had been steadily gaining on Jessie for a while before it overtook and songs always pick up speed when they get to #1.

Does anyone remember how long it took for "Telephone" to shoot up the charts after it got its premiere ? Cause so far it's up an astounding one place to #8... Surely it has yet to make a big impact on tv, but the whole 'internet premiere' hype with people posting it everywhere should help it to climb higher already ?

I reckon its down to increased radio play - you said youself her number 9 position was for the week before. She must've improved on that since then, which could explain it.

When a song makes #1, it gets a boost. Also this is the first time the album version has made #1. Also from Sunday I expected it to rise, as a 2nd week at #1, and moe people hearing it, they buy it. :)
