EDIT: Actually, I think the feed has reverted, because a lot of the songs that were climbing (Black and Yellow, Marry You, Who You Are) have fallen too...

I think the feed has frozen or reverted, nothing seems to be moving

 

Whenever I get annoyed with the charts, I get a grip on reality, realise it's just a f***ing chart, and just quit following them, only checking the chart casually every Sunday. But I don't discuss it anywhere, or go looking at midweeks or on iTunes every day. I guess if you don't have good self control this can be hard to do though

 

I've followed the charts since 2006- it would be tough for me to just stop, because I'm so interested in it :(

 

don't get the wrong impression though, it doesn't affect my life- I don't cry myself to sleep every night over a number 1 I'm not happy with :lol: its just an interest

Oh, I wasn't trying to be rude or imply anything. In my own (slightly backwards) way I was actually giving you some friendly advice.

 

But fair enough. I probably never would have been able to stop between like 1999-2003. Gosh, I was obsessive in those days :D Kinda funny looking back. I think the best thing that ever happened (for me personally) to take my interest away from charts a bit was I found another interest I liked just as much (following tennis). It's hard to balance obsessing over two things whilst doing both in large quantities!

There have only been two times I've gotten to that point in the last few years though - in early 2007 I got pissed off with the general crappy quality of the charts so stopped following them for a good few months. I was only roped back in to see how Umbrella was doing the week of its release, and kind of stayed following it to keep tracking it. The other time was actually only last year. I quit taking as much interest in them from about May to July(-ish) but then somehow stumbled back in for reasons I've forgotten now! I don't think there was any reasons actually. Withdrawal symptoms maybe?! Just kidding.

Not OTT at all. OTT would be if I was ENRAGED with the charts. Not relatively minor annoyance (which is, essentially, just a period of boredom I experience in following the charts... I'm starting to get one now if I'm being perfectly honest, but I'll stick it out for a few weeks). Really, it's no more OTT than not watching a show because you don't like the current storyline or something.

 

Really, it's the complete opposite of OTT. It's totally normal for people to get annoyed by things they take an interest in. If you don't then perhaps you're not human :lol:

I understand where your coming from, it just sounded like if you got annoyed by something in the chart, you'd completely stop following it because it's not how you'd like it to be.

All i'm saying is that some artists expect to be as powerful as they were. Both Christina and Britney had new songs out (NMT and HIAM) and they didn't do a simple promotion (if i'm right) and the results aren't what they wanted!
