I think Tyron said that when you put Eurovision 2011 Predicitons into Google, this thread is the first option?

edit: Just checked, it's the second option.

I'm still not writing off Eric.

If his performance goes well then I think he can still pull off a great finish.

THATS HOW I FOUND THIS PLACE OVER A MONTH AGO :)

1 Azerbaijan

2 France

3 Ireland

5 UK

6 Ukraine

7 Hungary

13 Austria

14 Serbia

15 Finland

16 Lithuania

17 Slovenia

18 Denmark :(

19 Moldova

20 Greece

21 Spain

22 Georgia

23 Iceland

24 Switzerland

25 Italy

Final prediction:

1 Azerbaijan

B)

I predicted a good result for Sweden, and while it's not quite the win I had hoped for. I'd still like to take this opportunity to gloat.
My prediction for the final, the best I got it was in 2007 when I got the top 4 spot on and in the correct order :funky: But don't expect that this year...

1. France

2. United Kingdom

3. Russia

4. Denmark

5. Sweden

6. Estonia

7. Azerbaijan

8. Germany

9. Ireland

10. Hungary

11. Bosnia-Herzegovina

12. Greece

13. Serbia

14. Ukraine

15. Austria

16. Iceland

17. Romania

18. Finland

19. Georgia

20. Switzerland

21. Italy

22. Moldova

23. Slovenia

24. Lithuania

25. Spain

Laughably incorrect. The only one I got anywhere near right was Sweden. I've never predicted the winner as low as 7th before.

As for Hungary, I think that dated type of schlager really is completely over and never coming back now, final nail in the coffin right there  Modern schlager a la Sweden is the way forward! Frederik Kempe will be pleased to break his flop streak!

I see ESC EXPERT is browsing, what do you have to say about France in 15th? :D

Actual results compared to how I thought they'd do;

1. Azerbaijan (+6)

2. Italy (+19)

3. Sweden (+2)

4. Ukraine (+10)

5. Denmark (-1)

6. Bosnia-Herzegovina (+5)

7. Greece (+5)

8. Ireland (+1)

9. Georgia (+10)

10. Germany (-2)

11. United Kingdom (-9)

12. Moldova (+10)

13. Slovenia (+10)

14. Serbia (-1)

15. France (-14)

16. Russia (-13)

17. Romania (Correct)

18. Austria (-3)

19. Lithuania (+5)

20. Iceland (-4)

21. Finland (-3)

22. Hungary (-12)

23. Spain (+2)

24. Estonia (-18)

25. Switzerland (-5)

I have never been so wrong before and will hopefully never be so wrong again. Major  moments at Italy and Ukraine exceeding any expectations anyone could have possibly ever had and UK, France, Russia and Estonia's huge flops.

My prediction was completely wrong apart from Hungary and Spain (woo! ) . What a night :drama:

Would probably be in your best interest next year to just put all 25 countries into a list randomizer and just use that as your prediction. I think I'll do that.

Why is ESC EXPERT in hiding :( I'd like to hear his views on France coming 15th despite the deal struck for them to win this year.
It provided one of the most unintentionally hilarious moments of the night for me when the backing vocalists continue on stage for a bit whilst he gets out of the box behind the camera just after the key change - a few seconds later he sort of arrives back on screen rather like he's popped in from nowhere to join in with the choreography. At 2:38 on the video;

LOL. Amazing.

25. Lithuania

24. Switzerland

23. Moldova

22. Italy

21. Spain

20. Georgia

19. Slovenia

18. Iceland

17. Ukraine

16. Austria

15. Romania

14. Greece

13. Ireland (VERY unsure about this one though, could go either way - so I thought I'd put it in the middle!)

12. Serbia

11. Finland

----------------

10. Hungary :(

09. Sweden

08. Germany

07. Denmark

06. Russia

05. Bosnia-Herzegovina

04. Estonia

03. United Kingdom

02. Azerbaijan

01. France

:o God knows what could happen, I can see any of the top 7 winning in reality + (God forbid) Ireland, I'm just hoping it's British punters overestimating them and hoping they'll finish well out of the top 10.

Oh dear :o I put a :( face at Hungary being 10th - and they're 22nd?! Estonia (who I predicted to win up until last Monday) in 24th? France and UK were miles off, I only matched 5 of the top 10 :o oh dear Only 20 places off with Italy too :kink:.

Well I was sure France had it in the bag but having watched the performance, I was disappointed - it just seemed to lack something. :(

Also despite Estonia being hailed as one of the favourites (which I never quite understood), it ended up something like 24th in the end.

Italy shocked me with their 2nd place. I genuinely don't understand why that song was so popular.

Nina - Caroban (Serbia)

Maja Keuc - No One (Slovenia)

Jedward - Lipstick (Ireland)

These (yes, including Jedward  ) were the three songs that had the biggest improvement factor for me - of course I still think Jedward owe everything to their backing singers. Nina and Maja were never high up my rankings but I thought these two gave faultless performances of their tracks.
