March 8, 201114 yr Author I have added up the scores of so far and I can reveal that 4 songs have gone over 100 points. Surprisingly there are NO FEMALES in the top 4. Another surprise is that there is a RAP SONG in the top 4, yes, a rap song doing well on Buzzjack. Unsurprisingly Queen's 'Bohemian Rhapsody' is in the current top 4 but is not currently top. Another surprise is that elevator music is doing well on Buzzjack, which is Enigma's 'Sadness Part 1' that has over 70 points. Two songs are currently on minus points, those are 'I Wanna Sex You Up' and 'The Stonk'. Iron Maiden are also doing surprisingly well. If you want your favourite to be in the final and you haven't voted yet... you know what to do.

March 8, 201114 yr Amazing year imo. Too difficult to chose for the best song. March 8, 201114 yr Author I've just heard the KLF song - wished I heard it before. It's a good song and it deserved some of my points. I should of given The Simpsons more points too if I heard the song properly before voting. :(
March 8, 201114 yr only on Buzzjack can I find people criticising what it probably the best song of all time  This is what I'm thinking. (Although not the best song of all time, probably in my top 10 though and easily the best song on that list :P) Speaking of 'best song of all time' I can already envision myself being extremely disappointed when both my favourite and second favourite songs of all time will almost inevitably come towards to lower end of the leaderboard in 1996... :( At least BoRap seems almost certain to qualify. Firestarter and Breathe are hardly BuzzJack friendly  Edited March 8, 201114 yr by Bray

Firestarter and Breathe are hardly BuzzJack friendly  The bad thing is there's 24 songs in 1996 round, compared to 17 in this round, + there's lots of female number ones in 96' - so there's about no chance of Prodigy making it in. I'll be disappointed if Prodigy do worse than Peter Andre, Boyzone, Gary Barlow and George Michael cr@p. What's even worse is that there's 36 songs in the 1999 round, meaning great dance songs like 'Flat Beat', '9PM' and 'Blue (Da Ba Dee)' won't even go top 20 :( I bet the South Park number one will not be top 30 as well, even though its one of the best 'TV Show Number Ones' in 1990s :( 1999 has some of the best number ones of the decade, 'Mambo No.5', 'Genie in a Bottle', 'Baby One More Time', 'Keep on Movin', 'She's The One', 'Livin' La Vida Loca', 'Fly Away', 'Tragedy' are all good songs too Edited March 8, 201114 yr by danielGaGa

I am pretty sure I've never heard Flat Beat or 9PM :o I love Blue (Da Ba Dee) But it's a bit of a novelty song really. Chocolate Salty Balls is a technically awful, awful song but I love it anyway :kink: That was Isaac Hayes' only #1 :drama:

Firestarter and Breathe are hardly BuzzJack friendly  its probably not my personal favourite either, but looking at how much of a classic it is plus regard, quality, acclaim, topping 'best song ever' polls, I'd say its easily up there with the best songs ever written, I guess the only other songs that you could say are the best ever if not that are Imagine, Smells Like Teen Spirit, Hey Jude or Bittersweet Symphony - of course I love it too  speaking of BS, a lot of my favourite songs of the 90s won't be in this as they were all number 2 and in most cases kept off by crap :( (Dario G, Oasis, Robert Miles, Chumbawumba ), although 1999 was an amazing year for number 1s, they bring me back fond memories  Edited March 8, 201114 yr by chart wizard

March 8, 201114 yr I'm pleasantly surprised to see Enigma doing well with quite a few people as I thought it would be all but forgotten by now.
March 8, 201114 yr This is what I'm thinking. (Although not the best song of all time, probably in my top 10 though and easily the best song on that list :P) I obviously appreciate it for being groundbreaking musically and structure-wise, but I personally think that it's absolutely horrendous. I'm not saying this because I'm 'generic BJ female singer loon #587' but because I genuinely despise the song. Glad to see that I'm not alone, because oddly enough it's SO critically acclaimed that I almost feel like I'm committing a crime by not liking it  I would hope BJ have more taste than to vote any of those 4 acts ahead of either of The Prodigy's songs  Although from that chart game 'ukchartstatsfan' hosts where Blind Faith has finished top 3 3 times in a row (including getting to #1 last week) and The Prodigy's fanbase can't be *that* far removed from Chase & Status' that sort of gives me some hope at least one of them (probably Firestarter, though I prefer Breathe personally :P) could get top 10 or so in 1996. Chocolate Salty Balls is a technically awful, awful song but I love it anyway :kink: That was Isaac Hayes' only #1 :drama: You NEED to hear 9pm at least, it was the song that almost single handedly opened my eyes (well ears!) to dance music. I was in Virgin Megastore as an uneducated 12 year old with £3 to spend and was about to buy S Club 7's Bring It All Back when I saw this song that I'd never heard on the 'listening podium' and I fell in love instantly and needless to say spent my £3 more wisely! I believe it's the biggest selling Ibiza anthem of all time - sold well over 800k which is almost unthinkable for a dance song :o
