Great to see the KLF top 1991

1992's not a bad year at all really.

15 Tasmin Archer ‘Sleeping Satellite’

12 Jimmy Nail ‘Ain’t No Doubt’

10 Charles and Eddie ‘Would I Lie to You?’

08 The Shaman ‘Ebeneezer Goode’

06 Shakespears Sister ‘Stay’

05 Right Said Fred ‘Deeply Dippy’

04 Wet Wet Wet ‘Goodnight Girl’

03 KWS ‘Please Don’t Go’

02 Snap! ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ Much prefer The Power

01 Whitney Houston ‘I Will Always Love You’ Overblown but not bad

-2 Erasure ‘Abba-esque’ I suppose I should like this, especially as it helped rejuvenate interest in ABBA, but I really don't like most of the songs on the EP at all. Tough between this and BoyzIIMen for the -2, EOTR is a bit crap IMO.

An interesting year, where the average run at #1 was 4.6 weeks, I don't think people on BuzzJack would be able to cope with a year like 1992 now. :P

Anyway:

+15 Shakespear's Sister "Stay"

+12 Snap "Rhythm Is A Dancer"

+10 Tasmin Archer "Sleeping Satellite" (who posted on ChC back in Autumn 06  )

+8 The Shamen "Ebeneezer Goode"

+6 Erasure "Abba-Esque (EP)"

+5 Right Said Fred "Deeply Dippy"

+4 Jimmy Nail "Ain't No Doubt" (Champion Pet. :P )

+3 Charles & Eddie "Would I Lie To You?"

+2 K.W.S. "Please Don't Go/Game Boy"

+1 Wet Wet Wet "Goodnight Girl"

-2 Whitney Houston "I Will Always Love You"

+15 Shakespeare's Sister "Stay"

+15 Snap! ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ classic!

+12 Whitney Houston ‘I Will Always Love You’ its my birthday number 1 so will always mean something to me, don't judge me! :drama:

+10 The Shaman ‘Ebeneezer Goode’

+8 Shakespears Sister ‘Stay’ (although admittedly this would be a lot lower without X Factor  gorgeous song none the less)

+6 Boyz II Men ‘End Of The Road’

+5 Right Said Fred ‘Deeply Dippy’

the rest I haven't heard, so are just in order of release  :

+4 Erasure ‘Abba-esque’- although I do think I may have heard this before, don't recall it though

+3 Wet Wet Wet ‘Goodnight Girl’

+2 KWS ‘Please Don’t Go’

+1 Jimmy Nail ‘Ain’t No Doubt’

-2 Charles and Eddie ‘Would I Lie to You?’- last on the list I don't know :kink:

Can the final be one of 50? It seems very harsh that songs from later years when there were over 25 number ones have much less of a chance than those from the earlier years like this one when pretty much everyone will be voting for a song they either don't know or don't like. Maybe be a playoff for the 5th-7th places songs in each with the top 10 going through?

15|Shakespears Sister ‘Stay’ - FABULOUS

12|Tasmin Archer ‘Sleeping Satellite’ - CHC LEGEND

10|Erasure ‘Abba-esque’ - Lay All Your Love On Me is

08|The Shaman ‘Ebeneezer Goode’ - These are good, these are good, wo-o-oah

06|Snap! ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’ - Another great track

05|Right Said Fred ‘Deeply Dippy’ - Surprisingly okay, a soft spot for this

04|KWS ‘Please Don’t Go’ - Pretty $h!t tbh

03|Wet Wet Wet ‘Goodnight Girl’ - Not bad by their standards

02|Charles and Eddie ‘Would I Lie to You?’ - Meh

01|Whitney Houston ‘I Will Always Love You’ - MeeEEEEEeeeeeeEEEEEEEEE EEEEE EEEEE EEEEE EEEEEEEEEEEEh

-02|Boyz II Men ‘End Of The Road’ - Utterly vile.

I agree with this- especially when we get to 1999, or just put the top 5 through each round (that way Queen would get through :kink: ) seriously though, a top 50 would be good

Great idea! :w00t: :yahoo: :cheer:  I am so pi**ed off that Queen missed out on a top 4 placing because it was soooo close to The Clash, although I wanted Clash to go through as well and not Enigma's elevator music borefest.

So this will mean in the final there will be 50 songs to vote from, but before then there'll be 30 "wildcard" songs. Hopefully The Prodigy will get through in this case, as I can see them just missing the top 4, I'm not sure which of their number ones is more popular, but I can see them getting lots of votes. Plus there are soooo many good songs in 1999 and 1997 - plus I was born in 1997 :D

Current songs through to the "wildcard" round are:

+213 1991 Queen "Bohemian Rhapsody/These Are The Days of Our Lives (1991)" (5th)

+199 1990 Adamski "Killer" (5th)

+167 1991 Chesney Hawkes "The One and Only" (6th)

+151 1990 Maria McKee "Show Me Heaven" (6th)

+151 1991 Cher "The Shoop Shoop Song (It's In His Kiss)" (7th)

+148 1990 England New Order "World in Motion" (7th)

And a current scores update: 3 songs are already over 200 points, it's a close round between Shakespears Sister and Snap!, Wet Wet Wet are currently last. Keep on voting - next round will come Saturday morning :D

NOW LOOK WHAT YOU HAVE DONE MARK.

1) Whitney Houston ‘I Will Always Love You’

2) Shakespears Sister ‘Stay’

3) Wet Wet Wet ‘Goodnight Girl’

4) Jimmy Nail ‘Ain’t No Doubt’

5) Tasmin Archer ‘Sleeping Satellite’

6) Boyz II Men ‘End Of The Road’

7) Erasure ‘Abba-esque’

8) Snap! ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’

9) KWS ‘Please Don’t Go’

10) Charles and Eddie ‘Would I Lie to You?’

-2 The Shaman ‘Ebeneezer Goode’

+15 Snap! ‘Rhythm is a Dancer’

+12 The Shaman ‘Ebeneezer Goode’

+10 Erasure ‘Abba-esque’

+8 Shakespears Sister ‘Stay’

+6 Whitney Houston ‘I Will Always Love You’

+5 KWS ‘Please Don’t Go'

+4 Jimmy Nail ‘Ain’t No Doubt’

+3 Boyz II Men ‘End Of The Road’

+2 Tasmin Archer ‘Sleeping Satellite’

+1 Charles and Eddie ‘Would I Lie to You?’

-2 Right Said Fred ‘Deeply Dippy’ (such a non event even The Chart Show had SL2 'On A Ragga Tip' as their #1 for two weeks :D )

I'm pleased at the majority of BuzzJack showing a surprising amount of taste and not giving Whitney huge points just because she's a female solo artist. She's got quite a few -2s :D

Hopefully The Prodigy will get through in this case, as I can see them just missing the top 4, I'm not sure which of their number ones is more popular, but I can see them getting lots of votes.

I'd guess Firestarter is more popular.

Mark? Why am I Mark and why exactly is the "wildcard" thing a bad idea?

I am Mark, and my idea has now meant that Queen has another chance, a song which neither I or Dandy like!

Mark? Why am I Mark and why exactly is the "wildcard" thing a bad idea?

As you say, you're not Mark so the comment wasn't aimed at you...

...but, as you ask, I didn't want Queen to get through - incredibly overrated track.

Oh my Hits, I can't make head nor tail of passion. :(

Wait, Right Said Fred denied SL2 of a #1? Feck.

On A Ragga Tip is another example of a song I only found out the title and artist of recently :P

EDIT: Whatever that KWS song is also denied SL2 of #1.
