Coldplay albums:

1. Mylo Xyloto - Coldplay

24. X & Y - Coldplay

28. Parachutes - Coldplay

30. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends - Coldplay

34. A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay

It can't be very common for a living act to have 5 studio albums concurrently in the iTunes albums top 40. The only others acts I remember doing it were The Beatles and Michael Jackson. :o

That is incredible :o If only they could do it officially! That'd be a record surely.

Surprised X & Y is the highest oldie given it's neither their début, their biggest seller (or is it?) or their most recent.

Pro Green looks like he won't match the peak of "Alive 'Till I'm Dead" then, despite "At Your Inconvenience" being very likely to outsell that album very quickly. #3 peak behind Coldplay and Florence is no shame though. This is presuming that "Ceremonials" does get to #2, I'd have assumed it was on for 100k+ following "Lungs" but after the singles chartings she's had who knows?

Yeah, it is a bit odd - but to be honest if someone asked me on the spot to name a Coldplay album I would say X&Y even though it's only the third highest selling of their albums. Maybe just because it's their shortest album title and people are lazy

Or maybe it's because Coldplay have a new album out and the XF and Glee exposure (albeit a few weeks ago) has kept 'Fix You' in the minds for people, so they want the album?

..and all coldplay albums are on the front of iTunes.

Also they are only £3.95, THREE POUNDS AND 95P for an album, amazing deal!

That doesn't explain why X&Y is the highest of their first four though, unless people are buying their middle album in the interest of symmetry.

Thats true, maybe because its got their anthem on it 'Fix You' and it was recently performed on X Factor by Janet? Possibly. Not sure though, probably just random.

 115. Pixie Lott - What Do You Take Me For - EP [Pre-Order]

So happy this is ahead of JLS. Hoping she gets an X Factor slot.

or maybe because all Coldplay's catalogue albums are now £3.95 :kink:

edit: darn, this has already been said :drama:

It's both already been said and already had its irrelevance noted :P It doesn't explain why X&Y is the highest of their 4 old albums, as all of them are £3.95, not just X&Y.

I'm surprised the old Coldplay albums aren't doing better to be honest, the rolling ads at the top of iTunes' front page have been replaced with one ad for Coldplay (which doesn't disappear after a few seconds). And £3.95 is very cheap. Maybe everyone already owns all 4

Stating they are £3.95 isnt irrelevant for them all being top 40 though. :P Such a bargain!

1. Mylo Xyloto - Coldplay

20. X & Y - Coldplay

21. Viva la Vida or Death and All His Friends - Coldplay

22. Parachutes - Coldplay

23. A Rush of Blood to the Head - Coldplay

Nice four albums in a row there.

Bublé has overtaken Kelly to #3 :o Didn't expect that, I'm not too surprised 'Christmas' is ahead of 'Stronger' in the mids but I thought Kelly would be bigger digitally either way!

The rest of the top 10: Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds are at #2 and #6, Bruno at #5, Ed at #7, Lana Del Rey's EP back up to #8, Steps at #9 and Labrinth's EP down to #10. (Green's EP is at #11).

Adele back in at #7. Climbing with SFTTR performed on X Factor.

Buble #2 :o Who is buying christmas albums already? So confused. Love Buble but so early

Good to see Coldplay still selling enough to not be knocked off by Cher. Hopefully they can hold off Florence + The Machine tomorrow as well, but I won't mind too much if they don't as I love both of them. I just want Coldplay's sales to hold up

No sign of High Contrast/Tiësto/Underworld

EDIT: Oh, it's released tomorrow. #144 on pre-orders :D

Florence straight in at #2 (deluxe) and #3 (standard). Glad to see Coldplay still selling enough to hold off their pre-orders but I suspect the deluxe version will climb to #1 later in the day. Hopefully Mylo Xyloto can stay #2.
