^ lol. Everything with Lil Wayne seems to flop in the UK. :( Lil Wayne isn't exactly my favourite rapper, but there's some great songs he's been on which have flopped here (e.g. No Love). Quite a contrast to the US though, where everything he's on seems to shoot straight to #1 on iTunes without fail!

Although he's on that Chris Brown song which is currently doing extremely well.

Onto Rihanna and RnB, to be honest, there is worse. There's people here who think Yeah 3x and S&M are RnB! I'm not saying she's like Monica or anything (well, let's be honest, it is 2011 ), but I'd definitely say What's My Name? is mostly RnB. If I had to assign it a second genre, I'd say either electronica or pop (because of the instrumental, it needs to be taken into account that it's not normal!).

It does seem like songs do worse after being deleted. I remember Ridin' Solo got deleted from iTunes last year, and, in theory, it should take the 48? hours to get back to where it was before (which was mid-top 10 iirc), yet it took like 3 or 4 days for it to get back top 10, and it never returned to how high it was before it got deleted. :(

Indeed. Ridin' Solo being deleted from iTunes was a very emotional experience for millions of people, yet each person had a different reason why they became so emotional. Some became happy, some became upset, some angry, some delighted, some in a state of depression, some ecstatic.

Don't get me wrong i liked Ridin Solo but i was prepared for any song to do awful if it meant Miley got a top 10 peak, but despite getting a #04 peak on Itunes she failed to break top 10. Same as party in Usa missing out on top 10 by 94 copies is beyond gutting and only missed out because Black Eyed Peas got extra downloads for Meet me halfway after performing it on Xfactor to just go 10th that week.

Meet Me Halfway was #3 the week before it got to #1 (when they performed it on X Factor) though, surely?

I remember being really annoyed when it was #3, because it was one of my favourite songs ever, and I thought #3 would be its peak, and I kept thinking "Oh, it would've been #1 if it weren't for X Factor". Then ironically, the following week, it got #1, arguably because of X Factor! But either way, it'd've been a #1, which is the important thing. :D

But anyway, my rambling aside, I don't see how MMH climbing from #3 to #1 pushed Miley out of the top 10.

Perhaps you're thinking of one of the previous weeks where it climbed into the top 10, except I don't think X Factor played a part in that case.

EDIT: Wow. I was really gutted when Ridin' Solo got deleted. :(

I'm so gutted for Ridin' Solo. It's one of my favourite songs, and this is so undeserved. Jason Derulo must be devastated. :( However, I know he can make it through this. He just needs to be strong.

This brings back dreadful memories. Maybe it could've made year-end top 20 if it wasn't deleted.

@Bray Feeder had an interview on BBC Breakfast...shot up iTunes straight after it and that was it.

The song's in support of the Japanese Red Cross thing and I hoped it would at least make Top 75 this week, but indoubt that'll even happen... :P :(

Guys, with the way the Females have been BRINGING it the past 4 months, do you think any Males will have any relevant success this year or is this a Female-Powered Year. You have Rihanna,Katy Perry,Kesha,GaGa. Britney and J.Lo coming back and Beyonce new album this year. And not forgetting our UK stars Adele,Jessie J and Katy B.

So who is going to take the crown from the Females this year? (Honest Question)

Is it just me, or are American female singers generally more attractive than British ones? ;)

Arctic monkeys too

Unlikely - their last release didn't exactly do spectacularly well.

 Bit of a random update

Well, the bottom few hundred positions on iTunes are always pretty random...

Surely it's shooting that's gotten him into trouble before now... :P

No I don't think American singers are generally more attractive than British singers  Jessie J is one of the hottest women around right now, and Katy B is just gorgeous. And I'll add that Adele is one of the most stunning singers ever  Maybe she isn't CONVENTIONALLY pretty but she's beautiful and is happy with her image

American females are much more attractive and hot. Maybe it's cos in America you have more pressure to look "good". If I rate everyone said in the first quote from hottest to least, the UK comes last

1 Rihanna << Hottest

2 Katy Perry

3 Britney Spears

4 Lady GaGa < She'd look hotter if she was just normal in her vids

5 J-Lo

6 Jessie J

7 Beyonce

8 Ke$ha < Ke$ha does have a "look", but it's not "hot"

9 Katy B

10 Adele << Least good looking, but she is saved by her voice.

iPod question - with the '25 Most Played' list - is that calculated *only* on songs you play in full, or does it also count if you only play part of a song?

A gun was found on his tour bus, there's no evidence he ever actually used it.

This is off topic but you have to play the song in full for it to count as a play

It seemed like the least-off-topic place to ask, though. :)

Thanks for the answer.

Hmm, I think I now get the OTF/SL comparisons  The bit before the chorus is blatant copying and the sample sounds similar to the one used in SL (I'm aware it's not the same before anyone says that). The verses don't sound that much like SL though. Then again I haven't heard SL for ages.

I wish there was less verse and more chorus in OTF :( I don't like the verses

The E.T. video seems to be getting loads of airplay already :o I've had the TV on for a couple of hours and it's been on 3 times. It's a pretty good video. And I absolutely love the song, her best single from TD  She's getting better with every single this era :P

Come on Nicki Minaj get back in the top40 I would be probably near top 20 now :(

She's only #69 :( Although that was around where it was before it randomly shot into the top 40.

It would probably near the top 20 now if it did not deleted :(
