LOL.

" I never thought a bunch of grown men could get so worked up about a song being #1"

What about this forum every week?

Most of us here aren't "grown men", and the posters here that are "grown men" don't usually seem to get very worked up about what's #1 anyway.

Nonetheless, I'm sure if we were radio presenters, we'd be able to keep our mouths shut.

Yeah. It's okay, since JLS, Dizzee Rascal and Cheryl Cole will always get #1s still. Not quite so good for the likes of Alexandra Burke and Diana Vickers.

To be honest, doing on air-on sale hinders British artists in general. In 2010, these are the songs climbed to #1:

Bad Romance - American

Fireflies - American

Telephone - American

OMG - American

Gettin' Over You - Sort of American (Fergie and LMFAO). David Guetta is European, I think. But anyway, not British. And kind of debuted at #1 anyway.

Airplanes - American

We No Speak Americano - Australian, I think? Definitely not British, anyway.

Club Can't Handle Me - American

Just the Way You Are - American

Only Girl - American

The Time - American

And songs that debuted at #1, and spent 10 or less weeks in the top 40:

Everybody Hurts - British

This Ain't a Love Song - British

Once - British

Good Times - British

Dirtee Disco - British

Shout - British

The Club is Alive - British

Beautiful Monster - American

Green Light - British

Please Don't Let Me Go - British

Start Without You - British

Promise This - British

Love You More - British

Heroes - British

When We Collide - British

So yeah, I think we get the picture. More American #1s, and less British #1s. The only of the songs above that I think could've got #1 if they were available straight-away are Everybody Hurts, The Club is Alive, Please Don't Let Me Go, Love You More, Heroes and When We Collide.

Although Price Tag and Someone Like You both got to #1. Although Price Tag had actually been getting airplay since 2010 to be fair, and Someone Like You isn't a normal song.

'Europe' is not a country...

Isn't it!?!?! :o

Ha ha ha so funny -_-

David Guetta comes from France which is in Europe so you could say he's European

But the UK is also in Europe - He identified British artists as 'British' and a French artist as 'European' which implies he only thinks there are two countries in Europe, the UK and 'Europe'...

My statement clearly pointed out that I knew Europe was not a country, but a collection thereof. I said "David Guetta is European, but not British". That means I think he resides somewhere in Europe, but not in Britain. I didn't know specifically which country David Guetta lives in, but I thought it was somewhere in Europe. I didn't mean that Europe was the only other country in Europe other than the UK.

Well couldn't you have just Googled it? That would take about 5 seconds.

Feeder up to No36

:cheer: BBC Breakfast doing them wonders then! :D Hopefully more promo lined up! :)

LOL.

I doubt the BJ posters are mostly grown men though but the R1/Start Without You thing was ridiculous, it will be interesting to see if they playlist Alexs new single.Surprised Nicky Minaj is not doing better.

As much as I dislike Chris Brown he killed it on Dancing with the Stars US.

Pedantic is his middle name.I think J-Lo and Lil Wayne are a better fit Pitbull is a poor rapper, I think she will go to No 1 with I'm Into You.Her earlier songs were still better it is a shame to see her going so commercial.
