I actually wasn't aware of you being such a fan of The Legend during its contest but it's great to see it appear here! One of my personal fave own entries myself, definitely in my top 5 :dance:

Oh yeas, still very much a fan, it's hard ranking songs that I love, but I set myself the challenge. I'll probably change my mind again in a week or two.

ASHMUTE - HEAVEN

After being granted the freedom of an AQ, we've decided to go for this gorgeous indie atmospheric number, which would never probably qualify under normal circumstances, but I adore it and grant it finalist status, maybe some of the indie lovers will like it too. Also, our first Korean act

Edited by Leonardo

This hasn't let me down, gorgeous song :heart: may indeed have struggled to qualify through a semi so a good use of an AQ.

Thanks Bré, no doubt it won't be a challenger but I just wanted to introduce some people to it. I'll just send electroswing every contest after that*

OMG Just stumbled on my next entry, it's in Finnish it's a weird and wonderful slice of electropop, I'm already outraged at it finishing at the bottom of it's semi, i've just played it twenty-odd times in a row and I am in :wub:

DEEPER QUALIFIES

Need to do a bit of updating to this thread including carrying on my forgotten countdown of entries and 18/12 pointers, but in the meantime we rejoice as this rather beautiful entry manages to qualify giving us our first January qualifier since Float Fall.

Also, are we still allowed to post potentials on our nation threads because I’m stuck between two entries amd could do with some help.

Congratulations Leonardo for qualifying with 'Deeper'! *.* It is absolutely gorgeous, although I'm a bit disappointed that it's not like double its length because it feels like it's over way too quickly! Supporting the song and its stunning visuals nevertheless as it's just so damn good for that short time :heart:

This is fabuloussss, I really wish it was longer though because it always feels like it's over far too soon! Hope it can do well for you anyway <3 (I really liked your Worldvision entry as well, deserved better etc.)

edit: Jade stop stealing my thoughts x

Thanks for the support Brade x

So the two that i’m stuck between are

Fun poppy k-pop with k-rap part

Ali & Cheetah - Don’t Speak

And a Flynnonda recycle, fabulous Belgian electroindie.

Charlotte - Ta Peau

Feedback appreciated as last time potentials were met with deathly silence.

With the caveat that I can easily tell between good and bad in the former and not so much in the latter, I'd far prefer the former, it has a good melody which could get appreciated (and feels kind of retro, following on Wonder Girls, that's quite important for K-pop) but the BJSC mass means that the other could be a slightly better option although that can so easily get lost. I think the K-pop one sounds more unique though.

Thanks for the feedback! I’m still a bit torn but definitely going non-english for the next contest x

ALI & CHEETAH QUALIFY

Having had little feedback on the entry so far, we were quite pleasantly surprised to qualify with our retro-sounding K-pop entry, making it two for two in 2018. We've also got our next entry lined up, it's an electronic/choral ballad which is just gorgeous and I'm looking forward to sharing it.

~~~~~~AWAY~~~~~~
30: BJSC 66: Persephonia // Jade Blue and Frequency - Lately (Vox Mix), Actual Finish: 24th
29: BJSC 94: Ultraviolenceland // Rebecca & Fiona - Shotgun, Actual Finish: 31st
28: BJSC 37: Greenfroze // Junica - Living In My House (feat. Pip Brown), Actual Finish: 17th
27: BJSC 89: Ashton // Coco Morier - Dreamer, Actual Finish: 39th
26: BJSC 79: Jadakissnia // jj - All White Everything, Actual Finish: 26th
The beauty of this list is that there's no particular rush to finish it as I don't need to do the follow up until my 80th entry, so I've took full advantage and been a lazy hoe.
This section starts with one of my favourite house entries from BJSC, "Lately" (Vox Mix) just builds brilliantly and has excellent production and is the perfect example of an entry which is accesible to those not accustom to the genre.
Following up we have Ultraviolenceland's sole entry on this list which is a shame as I've loved many of their entries (CASI: Lion springs to mind), I prefer the verses to the chorus, but it's very catchy and mellifluous.
Then we have the first of Greenfroze's two entries on this list, a bit of a throwback but a great indie track which is what Freeze does best, this is perfect driving music.
Well this production was always going to appeal to me, as you might have gathered, I live for an 80s production, I thought this song would have done much better than it did, but like with Ariana and The Rose, I guess that this just isn't most voters' bag.
So we starting this section with Bre bottoming, so it's probably appropriate that Jade tops it. This is exactly the type of entry which is perhaps too subtle to ever challenge for the win, but the type I always appreciate showing up in the contest as it's just gorgeous, Jadakissnia needs not worry as they still have two entries left to come.
Yay for 'All White Everything' showing up and being embedded for all to hear again *.* I remember being thrilled when it was your EOY #1 back in 2015 and now those feelings have come rushing back after being reminded of your love for it again. 26 on an all-time list is brilliant and I still have two more entries to come, wow *.* I always appreciate your support. 'All White Everything' really is so gorgeous as you say, I still adore everything about it now from the gentle vocals to the synthy production :heart:
Cheers I nearly uploaded the proper video for it instead but I remember not liking the video and it putting me off, the audio version’s much better *.* Will post the next bit if my list when my computer stops being a dick. :)
That's fair enough! I enjoyed the video itself, but there was a weird part of it where the song is autotuned so I prefer to listen to that version that you linked as well. Looking forward to more! Bladdy computer *_*
30: BJSC 76: Cyclist & Maiko - Shine , Actual Finish: DNQ (29th in Semi)
34: BJSC 72: First & Last - Gemology - , Actual Finish: DNQ (29th in Semi)
33: BJSC 87: Soy - Lali, Actual Finish: DNQ (24th in Semi)
32: BJSC 37: Leave the Light On - Beth Hart, Actual Finish: DNQ (20th in Semi)
31: BJSC 83: Out Of Time - Vanessa Elisha, Actual Finish: DNQ (32nd in Semi)
First one out in this section is "Monday", this only came dead last in its semi and only garnered four points, I still like it, yes it's probably too subtle to do well in BJSC but I loved the production and I still think it's really easy on the ear.
Next up is "First & Last", which I found on the same Youtube channel that I found "Who You Are" and a few other of my entries, It's probably the weakest of those, but it still sound good to me, I usually put it on to wind down when listening to dance music.
"Soy" also didn't do too well, I think it's a fun Spanish bop, and since i've not entered too many of them I still have time for this song.
One of my earlier entries and my only country-leaning entry so far, I went through a period of really stanning for Beth Hart, and this is one of my favourite from her.
Finishing this section, we have what I'm guessing is Leww's favourite Quintessa entry, but he appears to be in the minority as in the trend of this section it was a DNQ, I think it's a fabulous R&B entry which is super polished and tight and never really got the DNQ, ah well.
More to come soon (probably around June or something...)
