The new Jennifer song isn't bad, i can see this being a grower. It sounds a lot like WMN in a good way

Why are they playing this in the middle of the chart show? It's a waste of 3 minutes when they could have been playing one of the songs in the actual Top 40!

 

The planned release 'Set Fire To The Rain' would currently be top 10, and when SLY gets finally released it would go top 20 (a huge flop compared to what really happened)

Someone Like You doesn't have a music video though (yet), since it wasn't released as a single. They used her BRITS as the video. For a song without a proper music video, it actually did VERY well on MTV airplay! :o

 

And Just Can't Get Enough would've got top 10 without a music video, so it is possible for Adele to do it too. :) SFTTR is really good too.

Neither of which actually fell in the charts. Two of the four(?) slow-tempo tracks in the chart as well, playing them instead of say Who's That Chick and Wonderman (not that I've got anything against either of those tracks) would have been better.

Well, in a similar way I could whine about how radio seem so reluctant to play songs which use vocal effects, such as autotune. :) It's just the way things go. Radio airplay has too much effects on the charts anyway. Hopefully in the future more people will discover music through the Internet, not through Heart FM.

 

Also, Adele would definitely have got more video airplay if it had a proper video. This is quite obvious tbh. Someone Like You is possibly the highest a song has ever got on the video airplay chart, without having an official video (yet another record it might've broken :lol:).

 

Someone Like You will be getting an official video somewhere down the line though. Just got popular a bit unexpectedly, so they weren't prepared. :lol:

Well, radio airplay discriminates a lot against hip hop and rock. We can't really have it both ways. It's even worse with hip hop, because it's dominating the chart, yet its very rare to see such a song in the top 10 of a radio airplay chart. It's bad with rock too, but it's rarely in the chart, so at least they have some excuse.

not anymore, since january with capital going nationwide the usual pop/hip hop/rnb songs all stay in the top 40 for ages.the only real hip hop radio fails to represent is eminem but thats because r2 dont play him!!
