April 10, 201115 yr then why did you chart it at number 1? I loved it at the time but then suddenly realised what a rubbish song it was. It went 1-7 and fell fast from there. This happened a few weeks before its release, so I was pi**ed off when it was number 1 in the midweeks Edited April 10, 201115 yr by danielGaGa
April 10, 201115 yr I make this the first time an artist has got 4 consecutive top 5 hits from one album without a re-release since Eminem did it in 2004/5 with Just Lose It / Like Toy Soldiers / Mockingbird / Ass Like That (all from Encore). Obviously Katy is cheating a bit with releasing a new single version for E.T. but still :P Crikey, I'm sure: Just Lose It was No1 in November 2004 Like Toy Soliders was No1 in February 2005 Mockingbird- No4 in April 2005 Ass Like That- No4 in July 2005.
April 10, 201115 yr Eliza Doolittle and Rihanna have got to number one there, I wouldn't say it's REALLY rare. The only female solo main artists getting to number one on my chart are Rihanna, Lady GaGa  and Willow :puke: Also on my old chart there was Little Boots and Marina & The Diamonds - okay so it's not REALLY rare :P But it's still pretty rare E.T. and JCGE have almost identical chart runs but with E.T. 2 weeks behind: JCGE 89-27-15-3-3-4 E.T. 89-29-12-5
April 10, 201115 yr Author 3 (from 2) Adele - Someone Like You [D] http://cdn.hmvdigital.com/static/img/sleeveart/00/011/821/0001182162_100.jpg Chart Run: 36-33-47-1-1-1-1-2-1-2-3 [11 wks] Release date: 24-01-2011 Format: download only track Label: XL Another graduate of the BRIT performing arts school (as is Leona Lewis, Katie Melua, Amy Winehouse, Kate Nash...), Londoner Adele Adkins was voted the hotest new talent in the BBC's 'Sound for 2008' poll. Her acclaimed soul-pop debut album, 19, was released on XL and was preceded by the massive hit single "Chasing Pavements". April 10, 201115 yr Crikey, I'm sure: Just Lose It was No1 in November 2004 Like Toy Soliders was No1 in February 2005 Mockingbird- No4 in April 2005 Ass Like That- No4 in July 2005. Like Toy Soldiers and Mockingbird are amazing. And I have fond memeries of Cher performing Mockingbird on X Factor on Elton John week! LEGEND! :D
April 10, 201115 yr By the way- What do you think would have happened in the chart if Adele HAD NOT preformed 'Someone Like You' at the Brits?
April 10, 201115 yr By the way- What do you think would have happened in the chart if Adele HAD NOT preformed 'Someone Like You' at the Brits? Price Tag would have got six weeks at number one
April 10, 201115 yr First song to spend 8 straight weeks in the top 3 since Just Dance I believe. I'm aware I said the exact same thing last week but with 7 weeks in the top 2. Edited April 10, 201115 yr by Bray
April 10, 201115 yr By the way- What do you think would have happened in the chart if Adele HAD NOT preformed 'Someone Like You' at the Brits? The planned release 'Set Fire To The Rain' would currently be top 10, and when SLY gets finally released it would go top 20 (a huge flop compared to what really happened)
April 10, 201115 yr By the way- What do you think would have happened in the chart if Adele HAD NOT preformed 'Someone Like You' at the Brits? Price Tag #1 for 6 weeks! :drama: I like Price Tag, but I'm really glad for Someone Like You tbh. 6 weeks is just too long. In terms of Adele songs, she'd probably have released Set Fire to the Rain as the second single, and that'd be climbing the chart now.
April 10, 201115 yr I loved it at the time but then suddenly realised what a rubbish song it was. It went 1-7 and fell fast from there. This happened a few weeks before its release, so I was pi**ed off when it was number 1 in the midweeks oh OK :P anyway, i'm glad this is dropping, its still good, but any longer in the top 2 would've tainted my opinion of it
April 10, 201115 yr By the way- What do you think would have happened in the chart if Adele HAD NOT preformed 'Someone Like You' at the Brits? We would have had SFTTR in the top 10, with SLY hanging about the bottom of the top 100. 'Price Tag' would have also been #1 for 6 weeks and been the years biggest seller. Shame that didn't happen, but I love SLY too so
