if they're released on a Monday, then they would first get their full 48 hours into their pop bar on Tuesday 11:59pm (but really Wednesday mid-day or maybe even evening) on the basis that the first 12/18 hours on Monday comprise little sales as most people are at school/work.

 

Songs always then increase a little bit more as (a) they become more visible as they're higher up the iTunes chart, and (b ) the Sunday sales effect is lost from the older songs pop bars (this last part starts on Tuesday as they lose their Sunday sales and start to drop down, an effect which is cumulative and compounds throughout the week until the following weekend comes around early Friday) which results in them dropping down the iTunes chart and making way for newer releases, until the aforementioned weekend effect kicks in.
