I haven't watched it yet, but I the The Edge of Glory is the first ballad that Lady Gaga has released, so I doubt she'd do a video like Bad Romance or Telephone for it.

 

And artists have got to #1 with worse videos.

The edge of glory isnt a ballad. -_- All Gaga's songs can be deemed ballads if you say 'Oh its a ballad with dance beats' :wacko: :blink: I prefer her ballad version but the real version is not a ballad.

It'd be impressive as a feat and moreso confirm what has been apparent recently: these days videos help songs to become more popular, just like the 80s.

 

Despite MTV not playing them but we have a new media.

Video's are SO important, they may be as important as radio play, there could be arguments for it being more important!

I genuinely think when Katy does the re-release of Teenage Dream she'll probably get another one (or two) #1's. :lol:

^That's what I said in the Katy Perry forum, her record label might do that so they can show they beat Michael Jacksons record of having more than 5 #1's from an album.

Will it get to #1 on billboard though?

It has a lead on iTunes and the airplay is increasing rapidly, so i'd say yes.

She's already had plenty of time at #1. It's not really her falling fast but the songs are increasing faster than she is I guess.

 

The video clearly helped The Edge Of Glory a little lol.
