April 27, 201114 yr ^ Well, I think they would be aiming at an age range for like 11-20 than 8-14, surely? But even a lot of the teenagers on here find him annoying. I don't mind him too much. And on quite a selfish level, his "mates" that he interviews are probably the ones I'm most interested in hearing, so I don't mind that. The most annoying thing is those games like "celebrity chart numbers" and that "Happy Birthday" thing they're doing at the moment. And it also annoys me how he shows bias towards songs a bit too openly considering he's presenting a chart show on Radio 1. Maybe because the teenagers on here are proper chart geeks and most casual listners won't care if he does something off-topic, and they won't know if he gets his facts wrong (e.g. when he said BLBC was the follw up to Forget You lots of people would have forgotten about It's OK but we're on a chart forum so we don't :P) Edited April 27, 201114 yr by danielMFAO
April 27, 201114 yr From your list I voted for 90s because I loved all the techno genres. My fave decade though was the 60s. Such a great diverse of genres. For the worst my vote would go to noughties. All that R&B/Hip Hop stuff really does my head in. Edited April 27, 201114 yr by euro music
April 27, 201114 yr Well I'm one of the oldies! I first got into the charts at the end of 1980. I was 11 years old. Every Sunday I wrote down and recorded the Top 40! I carried this on until the mid 90's. I love the 80's but the period up until '95, '96 still had high quality. My musical taste changed from the 80's New Romantics with acts like Duran Duran, Human League and Spandau Ballet to the Dance/House/Rave era of the late 80's into the early 90's. Then I discovered Indie!! Early Indie bands such as Lush, Curve, Ride and The Charlatans took me to a different place! Fell in love with bands such as Oasis, Echobelly, Sleeper, Salad and Blur. I still check Buzzjack for every chart update and listen to the Top 40 every Sunday and there's loads of great stuff charting but unfortunately, as a 42 year old, Reggie doesn't quite cut it with me! His inaccuracies, dreadful chart "games" and interviews with his mates every week are aimed at 8 - 14 year olds! I mean what the heck's that chart numbers game?? I've heard him say it's his highlight of the show. I think that says it all! <_< Oh, and if he does that thing when it comes to J-Lo and plays people singing Lambada ending with the line...."official chart" I'm seriously gonna punch a wall!!!! Hey, as long as Buzzjackers (even old ones) can have a wee rant it can't be all bad! :) To be fair the Radio One chart show isn't aimed at people our age. Yes, I find it annoying, sometimes I just think GET ON WITH IT! Bring back Tony Blackburn, that's what I say. You didn't get this kind of nonsense with him at the helm...... POOR POLL I suspect the poll was aimed at people who post on Buzzjack who would be unlikely to be very familar with 60s music, and certainly not very likey to be familiar enough to vote the decade their favourite. What happened during the 60s essentially created the 'pop culture' we know today, but what about the 50s? The birth of the rock 'n' roll era by 1955 and artists like Elvis and Cliff Richard surely laid the groundwork for the full-blooded sixties revolution.

I agree with everything you have said but can you really use the words Cliff Richard and revolution in the same sentence.
April 27, 201114 yr Not gonna lie, 90% of music I know is from 2000 onwards. The 90's have perhaps the highest quality for mainstream music, for me. But absolutely the 00's.
April 28, 201114 yr 80's excellent era, Michael Jackson, Madonna and Prince were all massive. Great rock from Guns 'n' Roses! Edited April 28, 201114 yr by thtr
April 28, 201114 yr I agree with everything you have said but can you really use the words Cliff Richard and revolution in the same sentence. Don't forget that Cliff in the late 50s was far removed from the middle of the road entity we know today. He was portrayed as a proper rock 'n' roll figure, and seen by many as the British Elvis.
April 28, 201114 yr My favourite decade is the 00's - because that is the decade with the music I have grown up with.
April 28, 201114 yr Definitely the 90s (early-mid), I was teenager back then :P Those were the times with lots of great tracks and legendary acts :D I love the eurodance + american R&B/pop music from that era.
May 2, 201114 yr I would say 90s followed closely by 2000-2010. I suppose for most people it would be the years that they started following music.
