Some of the lyrics sound really good (from what I've read on popjustice).

So excited.. October is too far away.

I'll be sat in school with everyone else having heard it :( First thing when I come home though! CAN'T WAIT!!!! :w00t:
This all sounds so good! Anyone know what time it premieres?

Oh my she looks like Lady Gag (NO not because of the big bow or the dressing style, I'm NOT saying she's copying her, I actually think her face looks like Lady Gaga).

But it's a great picture! The pictures for this project have all been amazing.

Not hearing it today

Here is the official press release thing :

“NICOLA ROBERTS ANNOUNCES SOLO RECORD

SINGLE ‘BEAT OF MY DRUM’– June 5th 2011

ALBUM ‘CINDERELLA’S EYES’ – AUTUMN 2011

Nicola Roberts launches her solo career with the release of her debut single this summer.

Nicola’s first single, Beat Of My Drum, will be released on June 5th 2011. Nicola worked with Dimitri Tikovoi and Diplo on the single that is her long-awaited entry to the pop world. “It's a fun record,” says Nicola. “It was important my first single was different to anything else around. I love that it's a song everyone can sing and dance along to.”

Beat Of My Drum is taken from Nicola’s forthcoming album Cinderella’s Eyes which will be released later this year. Nicola spent the past year working on the album with collaborators including Dimitri Tikovoi (Goldfrapp, The Horrors), Diplo (M.I.A, Beyonce), and Metronomy (Roots Manuva), as well as Canadian electropop duo Dragonette.

“The album has a very British sound, that was important to me,” explains Nicola. “I co-wrote all of the songs on the record. The stories I tell in the album are things that have happened to me and life in general. Some are happy, some songs are a little cheeky and one song is sad.”

The album will be released as part of Nicola’s new solo artist deal with Universal Records. A second single will precede the release of the album in the autumn.

As a member of Girls Aloud, the most successful British girl group of the past generation, Nicola has enjoyed enormous success, including 20 top ten singles and over three million albums sold in the UK alone.

Music will be sent out in a few weeks.”

I've just preordered my signed copy of the single and the album (first time I've EVER did that before hearing anything at all) So it BETTER be worth it!!

What website did you pre-order it on? Her official site takes me to her twitter account?

EDIT. I found it. Pre-ordered both.

Ha, I pre-ordered both single and album too. I won't regret it, I would always buy it anyway. #stan
Album title confirmed as Cinderella's Eyes :)

So what was the countdown for then? For the official press release? Disappointing.

She's looking so alternative though. This excites me because it's so different, yet puts me off because I feel a Siobhan ex-Sugababes vibe and I didn't like her solo stuff.

We should be hearing this within the next couple of weeks then, considering it's out in just under a month. Unless it's on-air, on-sale - which I hope it isn't.
I'm really impressed by that snippet, although I have a bit of hope that it won't be featured on the first single. :P It's like an album teaser.

so if we're not hearing it, what was the countdown even for? and assuming its going to be on air on sale?

The countdown was for the launch of the website, the launch of the pre-orders for both the single and the album, the announcement of the release dates, and the 'behind the scene' video with a one minute long snippet of what we assume is the single's instrumental.

Not too bad :P The single is released in one month, so it would have been early to reveal it now.
