As for XF US flopping, all I know is I can't see both AI and XF US staying, most countries don't have both Idol and XF - and there must be a reason (ie one flops). With the consistently strong ratings and brilliant reception Idol is getting following the refresh, I'm thinking it doesn't look good for XF US... I wonder if Simon will come crawling back to the UK, or at least American Idol, if it fails?

 

Its Simon Cowell we are talking about here, I think he would find a way of making XF US work..

The panels looks VERY underwhelming really considering who has been rumoured (Katy Perry, Rihanna, Eminem, Fergie, P!nk, Avril Lavigne, Hilary Duff).

Totally agree, Steve is really good. Nicole is great but better as a judge. and Paula, no just no! she can't judge at ALL!

The final panel for the USA version is quite awful, IMO. Paula is an awful judge to me, even more so now after just watching that video of her supposedly drunk. :o

That video wasn't even Paula at her most drunk - I remember once (in the same season iirc) where she was FAR worse and barely managed to string a single sentence together correctly :o Can't find that moment on YT (or anywhere for that matter) though.

Me too. I'm not a Nicole fan as well but you can't denied that she is a much more superior singer than Cheryl. Surely the bosses of the network (Fox?) have seen clips of Cheryl performing live?

The presenters are quite good actually. I thought Nicole would get the judging role to be honest, and I was surprised at Steve Jones announcement but sounds good.

I'm still shocked that they hired Cheryl Cole as a judge.. I mean REALLY? She can't sing.. She's just a pretty face. The mind literally BOGGLES.

Wow I didn't realise the auditions were today :o .. They left it very late to announce the judges then. Not happy with Paula :(.. Nicole would have been a lot better
