May 26, 201114 yr She will have been sacked. This won't have been a decision made my Simon Cowell. Why would he sack her when he pushed so hard for her to be on the panel? Tbh I imagine when Cheryl gave negative feedback there will have been a lot of 'WHO ARE YOU' comments. Also I don't think Fox will have been particularly keen on her accent. They really don't like putting British accents out on American TV unless they are Regional Pronunciation. From what I've just read as well, it seems a lot of people didn't like her, and she was sat in between Abdul and Cowell and this did not sit well. People thought it was destroying the chemistry that they were so used to between Paula and Simon.
May 26, 201114 yr I'm actually looking forward to Tulisa! I think she could be far and away the best of the four judges and will surprise a lot of people. I don't know why everyone's getting so upset about the 'Cheryl sacked' thing! Its BOLLOX! She hasn't been! Kath I don't think they would've said something like this out of the blue or as a publicity stunt, there's an air of truth to this, and nothing has denied it yet Edited May 26, 201114 yr by chart wizard

If she HAS been fired, and Simon has nothing to do with it - I honestly can't see him sticking with it (maybe as a producer - but not as a face of it) Cheryl is a by-product in all of this - its how it will affect Simon Cowell - or how it makes Simon Cowell look. If she HAS been sacked - then he has lost all credibility - and without that - what is Simon Cowell? Kath
May 26, 201114 yr Simon is all about saving face and presenting everything as 'the right thing for the show'. If Cheryl has been booted out by execs he's not about to give up the only exposure he has on US television and effectively cancel out his own celebrity there. Not in a million years. He's Cheryl's friend but he's a businessman first and foremost. You only need to look at the unapologetic swiftness with which the Brian Friedman and Kelly Brooke situations were handled on XFUK and BGT to see how the man operates. It'll be business as usual and within two weeks nobody will even remember that Cherly was ever on the panel.
May 26, 201114 yr Author Let's be honest guys. The Fox executives have obviously just watched Geordie Shore and put two and two together. Im suprised :o That makes you the only one thus far. She will have been sacked. This won't have been a decision made my Simon Cowell. Why would he sack her when he pushed so hard for her to be on the panel? There is no way that Fox execs didn't descend on set one day with a bunch of heavies and cart her off to LAX for a flight back to LHR and she left of her own accord or Simon ditched her. If Fox get the X Factor right then they stand to make an absolute fortune. They'd sack Cowell if would double their revenue from the show. This is a business at the end of the day, and if Cheryl is going to harm that business then she'd be out on her ass instantly. Fox have a reputation for being entirely ruthless, last September they cancelled a show after it had aired just 2 episodes and then pulled it from air instantly. News Corp is not a company that likes to lose.
May 26, 201114 yr Cheryl Cole's Accent -- Too Thick for 'X-Factor' 19 minutes ago by TMZ Staff Cheryl Cole was dropped from the judging panel on "X-Factor" largely because producers were concerned her English accent would be too difficult for an American audience to understand ... sources close to the production tell TMZ. . There were other issues too -- we're told Cheryl and fellow judge Paula Abdul had a "lack of chemistry" ... and Cheryl was more expendable. Producers now want Cheryl to return to the UK version of the show -- but according to sources, Cheryl's royally pissed over how this situation was handled ... and may sever ties with "X-Factor" entirely. With Cheryl out, Steve Jones will be the only host on the show -- which debuts in September -- while Nicole Scherzinger fills the open seat on the judging panel. Calls to Simon Cowell still haven't been returned. In all fairness this is how it should've been since day 1. Nicole judging in the US, Cheryl staying in the UK. Hopefully it won't look too bad for Cheryl, especially if she stays in her old job. Otherwise START WORKING WITH GIRLS ALOUD THANK YOU!

It'll be business as usual and within two weeks nobody will even remember that Cherly was ever on the panel. So you have to look at it from the US media side of things. If Cheryl hasn't been made out to be the 'next big thing' over in the US - then you're right - Simon has no face to save. I can't say - as I have no idea what the US media have had to say about Cheryl. If they HAVE made a big thing out of her - then Simon WILL look like a huge dork if she's been dropped. Simon will not like to look like a dork I feel! IF its true ... and he's willing to drop Cheryl like a stone ... what does that make him look like in the UK. I'm not Cheryl's biggest fan (and don't feel that she'll be missed on UKXF) but she's hardly the monster she's made out to be. For me - that makes Simon out to be a very unloyal ally. You know what - at the end of the day - who gives a flying f*ck? They're all considerably richer than we are! Edited May 26, 201114 yr by Kathyp

If she HAS been sacked - then he has lost all credibility - and without that - what is Simon Cowell? Kath You've got to remember though Fox and ITV are two completely different companies. It's Simon Cowell's show, but ITV is small time compared to Fox. The company is owned by the most powerful man in media! If the execs don't like something they're going to get rid of it. Silas eluded to it perfectly. The X Factpr USA HAS to work for Fox for it to be a success. They've poured so much money and scheduling in to it. Mediocre ratings are not going to be OK. If Cowell pulled four men off the street and sat them on the judging panel ITV would go with it because they need Simon Cowell. I'd imagine Simon will be pretty annoyed, but like Jark says he's a business man at the end of the day, and he's got a better replacement who is well-known in the USA, so it's probably a win-win situation for him. I'd imagine the relased statement will be something along the lines of 'creative differences' or 'change of heart' just to save face.

Simon has to stand by her in some way - or he looks an absolute cad (which he is) Are Kelly Rowland/Tulisa still on UKXF (both of them are better qualified to be judges on the show). I think we could also be underestimating Cheryl's pride in herself. I'd hope that she'd decline any offer to go back on UKXF and my estimation of her would go up further if she took this route. TBH - I still don't believe it. I honestly don't believe she's been sacked - and if she was - they couldn't find a better replacement than a Pussycat Doll? That's like replacing ... say Sid Owen with Dean Gaffney! Edited May 26, 201114 yr by Kathyp

That's like replacing ... say Sid Owen with Dean Gaffney! Nicole Flopsinger has had far more success in the United States and is more of a ratings draw than Cheryl Cole and is thus a fantastic short notice replacement. If it is confirmed that Cole got the axe and has been replaced by Nicole then I think its glaringly obvious that this is the panel that Fox actually wanted but gave Cowell/Cole a chance on the insistence of Cowell. Poor results from testing and overwhelming negative feedback [its been reported she's been continuously boo'd when ever she even breathes] gave Fox all the ammunition they needed to get the panel they desired. With AI being such a ratings giant Fox don't NEED the X Factor US and had Simon insisted that Cole stay and then the ratings tanked because of it, the show wouldn't have lasted on the Fox schedule at all and Fringe would be rescued from it's Friday grave yard to prop up the schedule with it's 1.4 ratings. They may have invested a lot in this but if it doesn't pay back it will go instantly. [Ask fans of Lone Star]
May 26, 201114 yr To be honest FOX were really stupid ever to give her a chance in the first place. Anybody not blinded by fandom can see that she's not a good fit for a talent show much less the one that's aiming to be the talent show to end all talent shows. Her star on the UK panel diminished over the course of the last series when people stopped hyperventilating about the fact that the girl with the prom queen hair was on the panel, opened their ears and realised she had very little constructive to say and actually came across as quite a nasty piece of work in pieces of the backstage footage/whenever talking to Louis. She was a completely inappropriate choice for America, not least of all when your closest rivals have Jennifer Lopez and Christina Aguilera (!!!) sitting on the panel.
May 26, 201114 yr So they drop Cheryl because they're worried about her accent, yet they're happy for Steve Jones to do 100% of the presenting now? Surely there would be issues with his accent too. Lame. Anyone would think Cheryl speaks a different language.
May 26, 201114 yr ^ I think Cheryl's accent is much stronger than Steve's though, so I could understand keeping him but not her. However, this news, even though it hasn't even been confirmed yet, is bringing out a very nasty side of a lot of people. It's kind of sad to see people get so happy about another person's failure and hardships. Like how everybody cheered and rejoiced when The Flood missed the top 10. Then the following week you see those same people whining about the lack of British artists and ballads in the chart? Hmmmm... Honestly, despite what the media say, she's obviously not a nasty person. Don't fall for their tricks. The people who were sending death threats to Cheryl last year are just as bad (infact, these are death threats, so I'd say worse) than those people that were acting like Cheryl was the 2nd coming back in 2008. Both people are simply sheep who follow social trends and fall for the media's tricks. Cheryl is honestly not that bad. Edited May 26, 201114 yr by Eric_Blob
May 26, 201114 yr         We ALL knew Cheryl would have no chance at being a good US judge as she has a bad accent for the US and 0% popularity there. Her career isn't far from over. Bye bye Cole, the US have better people than you! Being serious now, having Cheryl on the US panel wouldn't make her popular there, she just isn't good enough to crossover and she should have stayed here. :( Edited May 26, 201114 yr by danielMFAO

May 26, 201114 yr If this is true, I'm really gonna cry for her. :( Divorce, malaria, and now global humiliation following a X Factor boot. She deserved none of this, and I just hope she won't fall into a breakdown à la Britney. She will need a lot of strenghts to survive to this, career wise. Boo. :( Poor Chezza, we love you.

Lame. Anyone would think Cheryl speaks a different language. I doubt that it was purely down to the accent. They most probably watched tapes back and saw that she was a useless judge, nothing but a 'pretty' face. May 26, 201114 yr Why would you cry for her?  Because she is my favourite popstar ever, and this will most probably kill her career, as well as probably affect her personnal life. :(

I have lost count how many people have said to me sorry i can't understand you English accent in the US, the thing is it is much easier for them to say that then to actually pay attention to what you are saying. Me and my mother meet this UK guy that had a US accent and he was asking the worker did they sell hash browns and the person behind the counter hadn't got a clue what he was saying. I find the Spainsh can understand English people better. Edited May 26, 201114 yr by kimberley
