June 5, 201114 yr Erm - and Cheryl is loved by the US? At least they have stats they can use to introduce Nicole as a judge! Sold 10m albums with the Pussycat Dolls etc. What would what they say about Cheryl? "INTRODUCING... UK LOCAL STAR CHERYL COLE... Had GLOBAL SUCCESS with Girls Aloud including a TOP 26 AUSTRALIAN HIT Has a pretend relationship with A GAY NAMED DEREK And likes a bit of BLACK COCK!"

I think with that type of show you either have to go for the BIG SUPERSTAR NAME like Katy Perry or for the COOL NEW THING/NEXT BIG THING like Cheryl or any other 'yet unknown' name. Yes, of course, Nicole is known in the US, but she's a bit of a B-list celebrity, isn't she? She had the PCD, she took part in several TV shows already (like Dancing with the stars), but yet as a solo star she hasn't managed to launch herself properly (first album attempt was a fail with 'Whatever you like', and with this one she seems to struggle, see 'Right there' failing to do well even with major TV performances). She doesn't sound 'fresh' or 'exciting' enough to be a judge on a show that wants to be seen as the next big thing in the US. Plus she would be seen as the "second choice" who only was a judge cause the "first choice" went wrong... Not good for the X Factor. Anyway, whatever happens, they've messed up big time with this. Some kind of confirmation that things are in talks at the moment : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-13662417 Edited June 5, 201114 yr by Hayzayy

June 6, 201114 yr Simon is just pathetic he clearly just wants to build press and public attention as the Americans have no interest in Cheryl so he hopes come Wednesday all eyes will be on the show.Hopefully Nicole gets the job she had far more credibility than Biffa. Why do you constantly call her Biffa? I don't even get the joke whatsoever... And you should be happy cause according to new press reports now Cheryl is apparently turning the job off.
June 6, 201114 yr And you should be happy cause according to new press reports now Cheryl is apparently turning the job off. The only response to this in Simon's Summertime Panto is ..... 'Oh No She Isn't'. Surely everyone on BJ knows how scripted this whole thing is ... even if the average Sun reader doesn't. Kath Edited June 6, 201114 yr by Kathyp

Even J-Lo was in a bit a rut before she got taken on at American Idol. All it will do is mean that Cherly will be scrutinised even more by the media, so she'd better hope she's up to the job.
June 6, 201114 yr I don't understand why it would be a publicity stunt though? What would it have achieved? Even if Cheryl goes back, it would just be seen as charity because she got all upset. And it makes the whole running of the show seem shambolic. Plus, her 'sacking' hasn't even got much press coverage in the States anyway, precisely because no-one cares about Cheryl. Meh. I've just realised I've spent far more time than is healthy thinking about Cheryl Cole over the past two weeks, so...

They only time for celebrities to be worried is when people DON'T talk about them. Kath
June 6, 201114 yr apparently, Max Cliffors has said Simon is 'in talks' with Fox about Cheryl's future on the show, nothing's been confirmed yet - I guess on Wednesday, all this speculation will be answered
June 6, 201114 yr Good for Cheryl, she's better off after the whole fiasco. At least she won't be the one the producers blame when the show flops. Now she can put X Factor and Simon behind her, and focus on her music career. Go Chezza :cheer:
June 6, 201114 yr This is good news I really like Nicole and she may not be a record breaking artist but at least she has talent and deserves to shine.Biffa (From Biffa Bacon in Viz-a Northern chav bully who likes to attack people at random) Cole has taken her limited talent as far as it can go. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/ustv/s141/the-...factor-usa.html
June 6, 201114 yr I'm guessing that she was never being offered a return to show, Cowell just agreed to make it look like she was turning down an offer to return so she could save face. It never made any sense that this was all some elaborate publicity stunt from the beginning, or that the producers had suddenly changed their mind due to some new evidence showing them what a star she was in the last two weeks (has she even been seen in public since the saga began?). Oh well, that's the end of her career anyway!
June 6, 201114 yr FINALLY all sorted out then? :drama: I'd rather Nicole tbh (much as I love Chezza) so yay.
June 6, 201114 yr well, Thank God thats over :D (at least for now!) it sounded far too ridiculous to be a publicity stunt even by Cowell's standards, I'm glad that Nicole will be a judge as well, she was pretty good on the last series of XF I'm not gonna laugh at Cheryl or anything, but I am quite glad she won't be all over the headlines for once
June 7, 201114 yr Oh so this is what happened it all makes perfect sense-Simon bent over backwards, did his best, offered more money, begged her to return and shoulders all responsibility but will i am and Cheryl are still to blame. http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/2011/0...15875-23184663/

She has taken the best possible decision after what happened during the last two weeks. They've played with her, made a fool of her in the press, and now she should be supposed to go back there because she was offered big money ? We don't even know if that's true anyway. Nonsense. Same for the UK, if she had gone back to the UK panel, people on here would have been so critical. And I don't get why on this one you chose to believe every word Simon says. He's obviously trying to make himself look like a saint who tried to protect her... The whole "she felt homesick so I thought she would feel better back on the UK panel" is bull$h!t, I don't get how people could fall for this. It's just a PR move from him not to look like the bad guy. Edited June 7, 201114 yr by Hayzayy

Seriously Hayzayy my post was dripping in sarcasm that Simon is desperately trying to remain blameless and innocent and putting all the blame on an aggressive(as if he could be) will i am and Cheryl.
