if Glee are that high already when the episode wasn't even finished, then maybe they can go top 20 again :o certainly higher than where LLM and GIR were at this point

IFP/U looks like another potential return to the top 20 for Glee based on how high it is already but I really don't think they'll do it. We'll see anyway. :P

I hope it does, as it's one of my favourite Glee covers.

I don't know where he got the opinion that people might have forgotten about it from, it's iconic if only for THAT dance routine/video  I still hear it quite often, even if it's ironically, in clubs and on the radio sometimes. I wouldn't say it's better or worse than the original - they have a completely different feel to it, Bee Gees' was more disco, Steps was more Europop.

I actually can't remember the last time I heard the Steps version on the radio tbh. :( I hear the original like once a month probably. I do hear the Steps version a lot though, through my own listening, and also at like parties and stuff, but never on the radio.

I think it's probably an age thing, more than anything. Maybe when younger people get in charge of the radio, it'll be the Steps version that get's played more, as that's the version they probably fell in love with.

What people do need to remember is that Glee - Loser Like Me had two versions in the top 100 at this time, which ended up costing them a highe r charting placing imo!

I heard it on Radio 1 a few weeks back, it was on Sara Cox's show (in full) when she was doing some retro feature. I also heard Blue's I Can on her show yesterday - all hail Sara Cox for having the best taste on the station :cheer: The original's always on Heart FM but the Steps version is more popular as you say at any social event - work do's, family party's etc...Tragedy always gets everybody up dancing  I am of course now watching the video on Youtube! As great as it is though, I have to admit that I was one of the rare people who actually prefered Heartbeat on that double a-side, despite the HORRIBLY cheap looking video! Both songs showed Claire's voice off to its full potential, particularly that final note she holds at the end of Tragedy.

Wow. I don't think I even remember Heartbeat! :o *goes off to listen*

It's a ballad that originally led the double a-side and basically got the single to #2 on release. It started to drop away slowly until Tragedy was more heavily promoted, in particular at Xmas/New Year office parties etc...which prompted it to jump up to #1 at the start of 1999. As a single a-side of just Heartbeat, it probably would have been a 250-300k selling #2 hit, rather than the million seller it turned out to be!

For me:

Judas >>>> TEOG >>>> BTW

but I'm such a loon they're my top 3 songs of 2011 :drama: Also, I really hope Glee's I Feel Pretty/Unpretty gets them the first top 20 since TEOTH (:o) - imo it's the second best Glee track of Season 2 (behind Santana's cover of Songbird - no I'm not spoilering it, boohoo if you know one song from the next UK pace episode -_-)

I've listened to it now. It does sound familiar though. But I'll be one of the normal boring people and say I prefer Tragedy.

Glee - Pretty/Unpretty #46

Nicole Scherzinger - Right There #80 :(

Glee - Somewhere Only We know - #84 & 78

Glee - Born This Way - #85

I was thinking that too - there must be something wrong if it's not shown up by now... I mean obviously as a promo single hyped less than BTW and Judas I wasn't expecting it to shoot to number 1 and crash iTunes but surely it's shifted at least a few hundred to show up in the lower half of the top 1000?

Born This Way  #31 and the Country Road Version climbing significantly too!

Cant see TEOG yet either, i expect it will shoot in high when it does.

TEOG is missing from the Born This Way Countdown list.

Oops it's now there but I can't download TEOG :(

I apologize if this has already been answered, by why is the awesome and groundbreaking '19' by Paul Hardcastle back in the top 40? Surely it couldn't be due to an advert, it doesn't really strike me as the sort of song that would fit advertising.

I don't know a lot about football, but Manchester United football team have now got 19 'titles', so their fans are downloading '19' as a celebration
