May 10, 201114 yr Not sure what the big deal is with Norway. It was ter-ri-ble! Having said that, Georgia, Greece and Iceland were too and they bloody qualified. I wanted Armenia to go through for comedy value and dissapointed about Croatia, but it's all about Russia and Hungary tonight! Edited May 10, 201114 yr by ScottyEm
May 10, 201114 yr How did Blue auto qualify? Are they that good? The UK autoqualify every year as one of the biggest five contributors to the EBU, the organisation that runs Eurovision.
May 10, 201114 yr The UK autoqualify every year as one of the biggest five contributors to the EBU, the organisation that runs Eurovision. Oh I see. What happens if the UK decided they didnt want to do it anymore? Wasnt there a thing a few years back where we were going to drop out after getting 0 points or something
May 10, 201114 yr Sorry, Im not Eurovision nut but Im interested this year because Jedward are on  Are you deaf?
May 10, 201114 yr Oh, I forgot the draw's on tonight :o Hopes: - Lithuania 10th to SLAUGHTER France's chances - Hungary 24th - Finland and Switzerland to sandwich Blue to make them stand out, or one of the two to go 15th in any case.
May 10, 201114 yr Odd that Norway took to Stella in SUCH a big way (in the respect that it was the only country in the world where Born This Way was blocked from #1 on iTunes) yet Europe hasn't. She definitely didn't deserve to come in the bottom nine of the semi... I hate to say it but looking at tonights results I'm pretty sure that Babel Fish would have qualified to the final...that was always my favourite in MGP 2011.

Wasnt there a thing a few years back where we were going to drop out after getting 0 points or something Oh, we'd never drop out regardless of the results. The BBC contributes about £200,000 per year, which would probably pay for about 10 minutes of Doctor Who, and in return they get three hours of prime time television on a Saturday night which is guaranteed 5 million plus viewers. It's an absolute bargain from their view.
May 10, 201114 yr I'm so glad and shocked for Switzerland, Iceland and Lithuania, seriously - they all put in unexpectedly great performances! or more like "mostly in tune unlike some "singers" that were torturing my ears all day" performances  it's day here in Chicago :D lovely one too. we finally have warm weather! 30 degrees... opposed to 10 last week
May 10, 201114 yr I don't know what people are on about Georgia, I thought it was one of the best performances tonight along with Serbia and Switzerland. Also Finland and Lithuania were very strong too. Edited May 10, 201114 yr by Sabrewulf

Serbia was my fave of the night and glad it was announced first :) winners of semi 1 press conference is LIVE now @ http://www.eurovision.tv/esctv
May 10, 201114 yr Oh, so Nadine Beiller's got the death slot as well? :manson: I had doubts she'd qualify but now I'm almost certain she won't... Also having doubts about Israel (sadly, as Ding Dong my 3rd fave in Semi 2, behind The Secret Is Love and Popular) and not even sure on Sweden now... I thought Norway was a top 5 shoo-in, so I don't know what to expect for semi 2. I'd like Israel, Austria, Sweden and Ireland to qualify - though it wouldn't shock me in the slightest if they all missed out (Sweden aside).
May 10, 201114 yr I just watched the Norway performance back on YouTube. Whoa! How flat was the singer on that first verse? No wonder they didn't qualify.

Russia and Armenia made it to the final from the second slot last year, Israel and Sweden did likewise in 2008.
May 10, 201114 yr I'm not bitter at all about the trash that got through over Norway, not at all. *slowly hides murder plots behind back*
