Nicki Minaj wasn't the only person to reject a place on X-Factor. Snoop Dog, Rihanna & Eminem also admitted to turning down offers on appearing as a judge on the X-Factor. So I agree that Cheryl was most probably the last choice as a judge for the panel, but this is Fox, not SyCoTV. If she receives a poor reaction and the ratings dip because of her, they'll throw her out regardless of what Cowell says (and I can honestly see a chance of that happening).

Fox and SyCo have apparently got a 3year deal for the X Factor so Fox have millions upon millions riding on this.

 

If Cole doesn't test well or the feedback is highly negative, she'll be out on her arse instantly

Can't see that happening if they don't screw up the judges. So far we've got Louis and Gary Barlow. Would not surprise me if they ended up with Katy Perry. I know Shoat made the point earlier about FOX might want Katy Perry instead of Cheryl, but it is Simon Cowell's show at the end of the day. ITV are clearly going to be pissed enough as it is that FOX have taken away Cheryl and Simon (arguably the biggest two celebrities, and the biggest ratings pull), so Katy Perry might compensate. I could really see it happening. Louis Walsh, Gary Barlow, Tulisa fron N-Dubz and Alesha Dixon really does sound like the show belongs on Sky One and not on primetime ITV. Can't see ITV letting that happen tbf.

 

The problem though, is Gary Barlow is replacing the major irreplaceable element of the show - Simon Cowell. All due respect to Danni for being a faithful mentor and a good judge - but she IS replaceable as is Cheryl. I don't think Simon is (I'm not saying his views are worth anything, or that he knows anything about music) but he IS the entertainment factor of the show. I do think that viewing figures would have dropped slightly anyway (7 years is a long time for a show to stay at the top without some drop) but I just think Gary Barlow is a bit of an idiot to himself for joining - outside of Take That he isn't that strong a personality to carry this show.

Yeah, I think they need a massive name. I hope to see Rihanna, Katy Perry or Nicole Scherzinger! I think Rihanna would do it she's loved in the Uk more than she's in the Usa.

I don't know why people insist on mentioning Nicole still when SHE'S HOSTING X FACTOR USA AND WON'T BE ABLE TO DO BOTH.

Can you imagine the Judge's House stage? Russell Brand on hand to be her 'assistant'. She would be great ... but I don't think she'd do it (I don't think she'd be mad enough to join a ship which whilst not exactly sinking - its hull has definitely been breached! :lol: ).

 

I don't know why the name of Sophie Ellis Bextor hasn't been thrown into the mix. Sure - she isn't a great big name but she has a following and ... she is quite witty. Certainly a more interesting person than Alesha Dixon, Pixie Lott, or some others that have been mentioned.

There is no chance a big name would do UK X-factor without Simon what would be the appeal.I think they will spend most of the series with different guest judges along the way.The image of the show was so tarnished last year I doubt anyone credible would want to be on the panel.I could see Sharon making a comeback is she not in trouble with the IRS in the States.I think Cheryl will last a year on US X-factor. Fox are not stupid I kind of get the feeling a big American star will have to replace her when the show does not live up to the hype because the panel is to boring.

Even as a Sats loon, Frankie is in NO place to judge anyone on singing - she just stands in the background looking nice, and maybe sings a flat line or two once in a blue moon... The only judge I'd be interested in is Kelly Rowland (out of the rumours).

My god, this is shapping up to be the biggest car crash in TV history. Frankie is annoying at the best of times in any Saturdays documentarys, comes across as the most immature and her voice just goes right through me. If they want a girlband member as a presenter, get Kimberley Walsh for god sake, she would do a good job.

 

I hope Kelly joins the panel, she would possibly keep it bearable. If its Tulisa, Louis and Gary they better get a fantastic fourth judge or I don't even know if I could cope watching it as all those three are just unbelievably awful.

I do think that Gary Barlow will put a lot of effort into his mentoring - and will probably take the task as seriously as Danni would. In fact - his problem could be that he'd take it too seriously. Tulisa I think would be good entertainment as a panelist - but she's so young - I can't see her giving her all to the task of mentoring. I really think someone like Sophie Ellis-Bextor would be good for this.

Sophie Ellis Bextor is as valid a suggestion as any. I mean (as a solo artist, and discounting Mis-Teeq) she's had far more sucsess than Pixie Lott and Alesha Dixon, and probably about the same (a bit less perhaps) as Kelly Rowland. And certainly more than Dannii Minogue or N-Dubz! If we're going to chuck random female singers who were/are moderately sucsessful though, we could easily just chuck Natalie Horler or Natasha Bedingfield on the panel :lol: We need someone exciting, as I have said (so many times in this thread I think I'm sounding like a broken record) the only name I'd be interested in from the rumours is Kelly Rowland. I can take or leave everyone else tbh.

GOOD LORD Mikey. I really can't decide whether I like this suggestion or not. She'd be utterly TERRIBLE and an utter CAR CRASH, but on the other hand I think the show NEEDS a self-absorbed dramarama in constant passive-agressive luvvie mode. I'd hope for a Top Gear-esque BREAKDOWN mid-series.

Now that Danni's left Xfactor she might become a front-runner for a judge. Tulsia seems to be guaranteed to be a judge according to reports.... Maybe Xfactor will change schedule to attempt to keep Danni.
