Yeah, Kimberley was the front-runner but Itv were really impressed with Frankie they didin't want her not to miss out and want her to be Xtra Factor!

Now that Danni's left Xfactor she might become a front-runner for a judge. Tulsia seems to be guaranteed to be a judge according to reports.... Maybe Xfactor will change schedule to attempt to keep Danni.

The "schedule" thing is only an excuse and probably an arrangement between ITV and Dannii so it doesn't look like she got properly "fired". I mean, her endorsements in Australia don't come as a surprise, so if ITV wanted her on the show this year again, they would have scheduled the auditions on different dates.

Lee, as far as I can tell the story about Frankie being the Xtra Factor judge is in the Metro. A very poor source, perhaps even the worst of all the tabloid newspapers. Georgie Thompson needs to be given the role.
Rooney, i read it in Daily Mirror, Metro & something else! I hope it's true.. I love Frankie. She's hot.

This !

I love Georgie.. Although, despite her doing well on Sky Sports, A League of their own etc.. I don't know if she would be suited to a show like Xtra Factor

& As much as I like The Saturdays.. I wouldn't really pick Frankie as an Xtra factor presenter

Matt Edmundson would have been a good choice, but I think he's just got a new job on T4

Interesting topic!

Whilst I'll miss Dannii (being a fan of hers to be honest) I think there's some loons that are COMPLETELY overestimating her appeal, or maybe just underestimating the popularity of the show. I mean this in the greatest of respects, but not having Dannii on the panel is hardly going to make millions switch off, is it? As somebody else rightly pointed out, the show was successful before Dannii, and after Sharon which people thought would be a struggle after the same cynics on this forum deemed the appointment of Cheryl Cole absolutely LUDICROUS. Look how that turned out.

I reckon people need to stop whinging about losing Simon, Cheryl and Dannii and start thinking about the positives. I do agree with Kath though, as with BGT - Simon is the major player on the show, I would go as far to say he IS irreplaceable.

Right onto these "potential" new judges.

Kelly Rowland - I reckon she could do a decent job, but I don't think she'd fit well with Barlow and Louis.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor - Love her as an artist, but I reckon she's far too niche to appeal to the mainstream X-Factor audience.

Tulisa - Yaaaack. I like Tulisa from what I've seen of her on a personal level on that hideous reality TV show with the other 2 cavemen, but as Kath said too (you do make some good points Kath, it's almost not worth me bothering  ) she's far too young, has very little experience, hasn't been in the industry very long and I don't think if you asked 100 people on the street who she was, judging by a photograph they'd be able to recognise her, which I think is the problem. Of course, being on the X-Factor would change that.

Katy Perry - As much as I loved her stint on last years XF, she's far too much of a big name, and I reckon Roo's right, Fox would never have chosen Cheryl OR that hideous Abdul woman over the global megastar Katy Perry.

Alesha Dixon - This is wrong on SO, SO, SO many levels. She cannot possibly replace either Dannii or Cheryl, I honestly think that would be a terrible move. I like Alesha as an artist and from interviews she's done but have any of you actually seen her judge? She is horrendous. One of these "yeah it was brilliant" when it was completely hideous, plus it wreaks of disloyalty on her part. Considering the Beeb went through all that drama when she replaced Arlene just to get her on board - plus Alesha personally got a lot of flack for that which I do think damaged her reputation in part.

Others have mentioned Leona too, again, NO WAY. Leona is waaaay too shy and nice to be able to criticise someone, plus she's only released 2 albums - hardly time to sit back and rest on your laurels, and that's where Leona's focus is, where it should be, on her music at such a stage in her career.

Some names which I'm surprised HAVEN'T been tossed around yet are, Jamelia (great personality, talented, already had 10yrs + experience), Joss Stone (yeah I'd hate her on it too, but it's no more stupid than Tulisa), Natalie Imbruglia (career in the pan at the moment, well known, talented, plenty experience), Natasha Bedingfield (again, some loons may argue she's successful but she isn't, her career is also in the pan, but she's well known, talented, experienced, why not?).

I do agree that Lily Allen would have been perfect, gutter she doesn't want to! Please no more Spice Girls though, having Bunton and her faux pleasantries on Dancing On Ice is enough.

Gary Barlow

Keisha Buchanan

Sophie Ellis-Bextor

Louis Walsh

and I'd be pretty happy.

Keisha has stated on record many times that she could never do the job as she'd feel bad about being mean to people

Yeah sorry but that sounds like complete bollocks from Keisha, she doesn't strike me as the type to be scared about hurting someone's feelings.
That may come as quite the shock to Siobhan Donaghy and Heidi Range.

It was Mutya and Keisha being teenagers that hurt Siobhan and they are all good now.

Mutya was the bitch to Heidi, not Keisha. Mutya admitted that she just didn't speak to Heidi for months. Although the only fight to ever take place in 2.0 was between Heidi and Keisha causing two cancelled concerts. It was over, wait for it, the Britney track Toxic.

I fail to buy the management influenced horse$h!t surrounding 3.0->4.0 Keisha is genuinely a lovely person. The reason Amelle never gives any details on the departure of Keisha is because it's just $h!t [Apparently Amelle and Keisha had a great, friendly sleepover at Amelle's house, about 2 weeks before Amelle went psycho stabbed Keisha in the back and ended up in an Austrian funny farm]

Feel a tad guilty about putting this in here but I think its something that Barlow had better get used to as he's going to be the easiest target in the firing line when figures (slightly) dip. Figures would have dipped no matter what (even if Cowell was still on board) so I don't know how someone as savvy as Barlow hadn't considered the possibility.

Having said that ... when viewing figures soar through the roof - it shall be me ... Norma ... who shall be eating humble pie!

Kath

Oh I don't doubt for a minute that Amelle was an utter CUNT with the whole Sugababes 4.0 debacle, and Heidi as useless as a chocolate tea cosy (business as per). But at the same time there's simply TOO much smoke around Keisha for there to be no fire.

Anyway, that is a WHOLE different debate.

But at the same time there's simply TOO much smoke around Keisha for there to be no fire.

Agreed.

Keisha has stated on record many times that she could never do the job as she'd feel bad about being mean to people

I would like to see her there though... Plus she has experience managing the SugaTrainees, so she'd be the perfect mentor. AND former girlband member, extra points! If not, why not get Heidi Range? I can see a Cheryl Cole effect for her.

Out of The Saturdays I'd like to see Una Healy there, she comes across as the most mature of them all.

I've added Sophie EB for she was the most "Dannii" person I could think of, bar Kylie. As far as direct replacements go, I'd say she'd be top of the list. But again, maybe she lacks the personality and mainstream appeal for the job. I'd be pleased if Kelly Rowland jumps on board though. Shame they tossed away the Scherzinger for that co-hosting gig. She'd be so perfect.

I can't really think of anyone else to be honest. Apart from girlband members, the UK doesn't have much female talent there does it?

She hasn't been officially confirmed yet.

The Daily Mail are suggesting that it's a done deal, but neither ITV or Simon Cowell have said anything yet, so essentially it's just another speculative article (albeit one that sounds VERY sure of itself).

Fine, but it is looking VERY likely now.

If we were to say that the panel does end up being Louis, Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland and Tulisa (as the ever so reliable DM states), then surely Tulisa would stick out like a sore thumb in that line-up?

I really do think she'd be utterly out of her depth. Though I suppose if Cheryl could do it...
