May 16, 201114 yr Useful post, thanks. I don't know the figures but Ult Kylie had a better sales week in the 2 weeks before Christmas 2004 than in the week of its release. Sure it was well over 100k for 2 weeks. edit - just looked elsewhere and it sold 131k in the week upto 18.12.04. Can't find data for the actual Christmas sales week. Christmas fell on the Saturday in 2004 so sales for Sunday-Fri would have been big. Edited May 16, 201114 yr by aeroco
May 16, 201114 yr Thanks, I'll update. :) Ultimate Kylie still stays second though From memory, UK sold 550k in 2004. Not sure if the sales week ending 2/1/05 was included in 05 or 06. If '06, then 550k sold in just 5 weeks, in which case likelihood is that UK sold 150k in the week ending 26.12.
May 16, 201114 yr Author At the weeks it spent at number 4, it sold 82,822, less than 117,000, and 131,000, so 131,000 has to be it's highest peak position sales
June 17, 201114 yr Author Some more one week Kylie sales I found in the Closest Races to Number One thread: Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi – 68,550 (2) – weren’t her highest sales at #2 though Loco-motion – 64,000 (2) – first week at #2, not sure if these were her highest sales at #2 Got to Be Certain – 57,500 (2) – weren’t her highest sales at #2 Hand on Your Heart – 73,500 (2) – debut week at #2 (week before Kylie was #1)
June 18, 201114 yr Author Put Your Hands Up has been added, but it is only an rough estimate by Vidcapper. I have also added Kylie's Christmas EP - A Kylie Christmas/A Christmas Gift to the list too :D
August 6, 201113 yr Author Added some more sales (thanks to Gezza76 who has added the 80's to his Weekly Sales at Number One)
August 6, 201113 yr In My Arms 12,206 (10) Better than Today 10,952 (32) Wow sales must have been much bigger when Better than today was released
August 6, 201113 yr Author In My Arms 12,206 (10) Better than Today 10,952 (32) Wow sales must have been much bigger when Better than today was released BTT reached #32 at Christmas, and In My Arms was released Spring 2008 (sales were slightly low). If In My Arms was released this year, it could have sold over 25,000 copies at #10! :o
August 6, 201113 yr Considering better than today peaked 22 places lower than in my arms it done well sales wise, and im sure there isnt too much of a gap between both on total sales now.
October 2, 201113 yr Author Thanks :) Very low sales, although it did debut just before sales were about to come out of the low Summer sales
October 2, 201113 yr Thanks :) Very low sales, although it did debut just before sales were about to come out of the low Summer sales Yes and it was in 1992 as well, also MW reported a debut week sale of 98k for Enjoy Yourself in 1989 :D
October 3, 201113 yr Especially For you sold 165k the last week of 88 whilst at No 2- sorry I keep finding stuff tucked away on my comp!
