I think for me Norway is the biggest shocker, i was sure it would have come 11th or 12th and likewise with Turkey.

 

Greece beat Azerbaijan aswell but didnt beat them when it counted.

Seeing Turkey miss out, and Russia only just making it, makes me question whether any non big-5 country is 'guarenteed' a place like I always thought. Russia probably could miss out one year, what about Greece? I thought the song was crap and it still won the semi.

Belgium beat Bulgaria.....

 

How many people were high while they voted? :mellow:

 

Surprised at Finland doing so well then flopping hard in the final.

 

I think the Eurovision public have just extremely changeable and random tastes. :/

What was wrong with Belgium? I can't even remember Bulgaria's song!

It's not the first time that the winning song wasn't first in semfinals.

 

In 2004, Serbia & Montenegro won the semifinal but Ukraine saw them off in the final.

In 2008, Russia came only third on the 1st semfinal, behind Greece and Armenia.

 

Surprised on how close Malta and Belgium were to qualify and Poland last place on 1st semfinal. Not surprised at all by Portugal's huge FLOP.

 

AMAZED at some of those results: Belgium and Malta both missing out, thankfully, by just a point. Norway 17th, Israel 14th, all very shocking.

Wasn't expecting Israel to finish THAT low. Wow.

Ya i would have thought Israel may have just missed out, im sure Dana International is gutted at the result, its a huge come down from winnning eurovision to not even qualifying for the final, but that aside it would have still managed to raise her profile a bit in some countries so i would still say it was worth her while giving it another go this year.
