How often have there been two songs by different artists of the same nationality (apart from the obvious British, Irish and American) next to each other? I was just about to mention that :lol:. It is very unusual :o. It is weird to think that American and British artists songs are common in European charts but we almost never have any of their artists in our charts. May 16, 201115 yr Oh, they didn't "rip off" classics. It's credited sampling. They paid for them. And it's not really "cheeky", since everybody knows the samples. The songs they sample in both cases are extremely well-known. Even like 5 year-old kids know On the Floor samples Lambada. :lol: For the 999th time, it doesn't sample Lambada. I'm not saying it's a bad thing to use sampling. Many (infact, probably most) of my favourite songs use sampling of some sort! :D You might be thinking of sampling as when a producer gets another song, cuts a bit out of it and puts it on loop in another song. That is sampling (the way they used to do it in the old days :lol:), but sampling also covers using lyrics from another song, using an instruments from another song (we're talking synthesized instruments obviously), and so on.

It was originally going to "sample" one of the melodies from the song, but they weren't allowed to use it in the end (although a demo version including the full sample leaked onto the Internet). They managed to keep the same chord progression for the song though.
