'Dark Side' video premiere:

 

I think seeing the casting call for this heightened my expectations. It was an alright video but I was expecting more when I saw that they were looking for all sorts of disabled and scarred and socially-outcast people. They didn't seem to use any of them particularly effectively.

 

HOWEVER, at face value it's a nice video and it's nice to see Kelly with the make-up reigned back.

HATE that video. Cheesy miserable shite. I don't see the song doing big business anywhere either.

 

Low-budget video. I can see where the message is getting at but the video just doesn't convey sincere enough.

I think it's fantastic and Kelly looks her best!

I think it's fantastic too; it's not an in your face generic 'please love me' message being conveyed; you're left to think. She looks incredible.

Love the way she looks against the black drop. Also I'm not quite sure what people were expecting? This is a Kelly Clarkson video after all, if you were expecting more than a fairly simple concept then you clearly set the bar way too high. I always knew it would be very Christina 'Beautiful'-esque and I was right. Kelly has never been one for the bright lights and the glamorous side of the music industry.

Yeah I'm agreeing with a few people here, I don't like the video, when I heard Dark Side for the first time, I imagined my own interpretation and this was not it. I did imagine her with someone else and leading them and showing them her darker side.

Not to mention that Kelly looks too innocent in the video... perhaps a rough make-up would better fit the song?

Apparently this is doing horrendous (chartwise) in the US.

Climbing well in UK, #75 on iTunes already. :)

Good to see 'Dark Side' climb to 56 this week from 188

 

And also 'Stronger' climbing to 43 in the album charts from 66 :dance:

She's in the UK doing some promo this week so hopefully it shoots up a bit. She's doing Live Lounge (eep), This Morning, Loose Women and Summertime Ball.

This is still not top 200 on itunes in the US, it goes for radio adds on tuesday, so maybe that'll help get it going.

I wonder why it's suddenly dropped to #63 on UK iTunes. :(

Safe to say 'Dark Side' is underperforming majorly so far. Video is getting tons of rotation for over a week and a half and it's still stuck at #58 on iTunes. :(
