June 20, 201114 yr Author My official DVD finally arrived! One good thing about Lena getting the 10th place instead of Blue is that her amazing music video is on here  The MF performance of Popular is another 'bonus' which is good seeing as they don't release the MF DVD's anymore :(
June 29, 201114 yr The 15 minute voting window is being brought back next year. Data is showing that an 'overwhelming majority' still vote after all songs have been performed, and another reason given is that the voting information takes up quite a bit of the screen during each performance and could distract the viewers attention. I can see where they're coming from, but I don't think there's an absolute need to mess with it again.
June 29, 201114 yr Link? Is this an end to voting during the contest? I never really thought it had much of an effect anyway (clearly given those figures I was right all along, hence why going early is still a televoting disadvantage), but I'm surprised they're getting rid of it given it's just profitable for them really.

June 29, 201114 yr Even though analysis shows that full-show televoting does not put anyone in a competitive disadvantage What, analysis of one year? That said, I do agree with it. I always thought it was slightly ridiculous when people would say that going on earlier would be an advantage now.
June 29, 201114 yr I never ever vote during the show anyway, as it indeed distracts me, plus I analyse all the performances and on basis of all of them give the verdict. After all I don't have infinite credit on my cell phone and missing a song would be a big deal pour moi.
July 9, 201114 yr Just listening to some Atomic Kitten classics and watching their videos. The comments on 'Last Goodbye' (One of Atomic Kitten's highlights, imo) are talking about how it sounds like 'Running Scared'! I have to say, I do agree with them! Yj1I2aSWKiY Do we think had this been our entry back when it was released in 2002/2003, we could have won? Or do you think times have changed and Ell & Nikki just had a sound that happened to be popular at the time and we wouldn't have done well with it? (Although Atomic Kitten were pretty big in Europe, were they not?)
July 25, 201113 yr Latest Eurovision rumours are that Ivi Adamou will represent Cyprus in Baku: HL4XnJ-bu9U and The Young Professionals starring the gorgeous and talented Ivri Lider and the fabulous Uriel to represent Israel: VcZnRz7WujA
December 3, 201113 yr It seems that from 2013 broadcasters won't be allowed to select the songs internally. They'll still be allowed to choose the artist, but the song must be chosen by some form of public vote. http://esc2012.webs.com/apps/blog/show/107...ions-in-2013#es As much as I love selections where we get to watch the whole process (mainly MF & MGP), I don't think it should be forced. So now it means broadcasters will need to spend some extra money on a selection if they want to take part? But I guess if it backfires then they'll change it back soon.
December 3, 201113 yr It isn't that expensive to put a vote online thou :) But I agree, shouldn't be forced to have a public vote
December 3, 201113 yr I think it's a good thing, although the BBC will probably just give is mountains of SHIT as per.
December 3, 201113 yr Author Pleased with this decision, although Phil's right - we usually get to pick the best out of a bad bunch with the BBC, and still somehow always end up choosing one of the worst :( I'd still love for an MF type show to happen in the UK but it wouldn't draw any decent names at all such is the stigma of the contest here...
January 2, 201213 yr So, Poland have withdrew because they want to pay more attention to UEFA Euro 2012.. can't say I will miss them, but it's always sad when countries withdrew... Montenegro is back thou! Daddy rock :w00t:  Only days left until we will know the venue of esc 2012 :D
January 2, 201213 yr Italy hopefully :P I actually would prefer Poland in than Montenegro, but, well, whatever
January 2, 201213 yr Can't say I mind, both have sent songs that are between average & bad the past few years.
