Jesus christ, at this rate they're actually gonna make the top 10 next week. :o

I remember saying somewhere a few months ago in response to someone that 'Glad You Came' might stand a chance of becoming a minor hit there with the right push (I was thinking low hot 100 for a few weeks, kinda like Ellie Goulding's 'Lights') but this I never expected.:o

Good on them I say, although the only way they can keep this momentum up I think would be to release a brand new track as the second single with a 'hip' name featured or collaborated with, but we'll see!

How do you know where they are on this week's Hot 100? :o

amazing, considering GYC is not a very good song at all. Its one of their weakest i feel but if the Yanks like it then fair play

I disagree. I think its one of their better songs, slightly different to their other stuff but very catchy.

Its repetitive and cliche. Catchy yes but its that form of catchy when you end up singing in your head and it drives you mad!

'Glad You Came' is easily their best and they definitely need to record a prime-production new song as a follow up if they want to keep the momentum.

I agree with your comments, I think the song has wider appeal than the Wanted's usual songs do.

Anymore news on when the Example produced track will be available and album re-release? It seems to have gone quiet.
Well they'd be nuts not to concentrate on the US right now. Elliott Gleave isn't a name to drop in La La Land.
I read in Music Week earlier that the Wanted will be releasing their first album in USA at the end of April, which will be a hybrid of tracks from the first two albums plus some new songs. Sounds interesting - I wonder if these new songs will feature on the deluxe edition of Battleground which they have talked about releasing here at some point?

But at the same time, they'd be foolish to just abandon the UK fans. It's where artists who go to the US usually get it wrong. Just ask Natasha Bedingfield. It works for Taio, because he had a very American sound anyway and people often forget he's actually British.

They're doing remarkably well in Canada at the moment, #1 on iTunes with a significant lead.

1. 1.0000 The Wanted

2. 0.7200 Carly Rae Jepsen

Has a chart run of 89-85-83-58-71-57-40-28-26 so far.

They'll top the charts over in the US and then they'll be overtaken by 1D. Fair play to their management as they have found the perfect time to release the single when there isnt any established releases coming out over there. Good luck to them and I hope they have a few more tricks up their sleeves as the album wont sell on the back of one single.

I just read that some American girl asked one of the Wanted boys if she could cut a bit of his hair off. He said ok and then she ate it in front of him saying he'll be with her forever.. :o :/ :S Some seriously strange and messed up people over the pond

I'm very surprised at how they're doing well..very surprising. Good Luck to them. Nearly top 20 on radio, and #2 on US iTunes. They wont sell albums there though will they?

Incredible :o

Can't believe they're doing so well, I'm not a HUGE fan overall but tbf Glad You Came is an amazing song and I'm really happy for them!

No they won't. The album chart is very different to the hot 100. They will have to release a couple more top 10 to really get them noticed. Only precedent really is Take That when they had Back For Good charting in America at number 7, sold a million copies of it, released the album a month after and it went in at number 69 and dropped out the next week. The Wanted have already said that they will be a singles act for a while, we wont see their album for a while yet until they know it will sell well.

I am really thrilled. I LOVE seeing British acts doing well in the US when we have so many Americans doing massively well over here. The Wanted are an act I never thought would even attempt to fly the flag elsewhere, but they're a pretty good boyband so I'm glad they're making some waves (however little.)
