I've been into gay clubs with some gay friends I have back at home, and admittedly the music is far more to my taste on the whole, but the clubs are all a bit flamboyant and OTT in Brighton from what I've seen and really not my scene. I always think it comes across as painfully obvious that I'm the token straight there with his gay friends.

I can see you inwardly shrieking with joy when Release Me comes on but outwardly doing the shy-white-boy sidestep! :lol:

030 || Natalie Bassingthwaighte - Someday Soon [botanikka - XIII]

Ashton rarely awards the southern of it's two eastern neighbours points, and even rarer still is big points going Botanikka's way. Someday Soon was one such instance [XIII was possibly the only time Ashton has awarded both it's neighbours points in the same contest] and my god what a song this is :wub: I actually have this on CD Single :heart:

029 || Agnes Carlson - Release Me [Herzebania - XIII]

Just edging out the second Nat Bass track is the winner of that contest, Release Me. This really is a how to guide for Scandinavian Dance/Pop. So glad this became a hit here, it's just too good not to. If you are wondering why everyone loves this song, just listen to the STRINGS and become hooked.

028 || Yohanna - I Miss You [bhangra - XVIII]

This woman really is incredible. Such an amazing live singer. This stunning ballad, which I really should not have chickened out of entering, still gives me goosebumps with that mesmerising chorus and those epic strings. Her second album needs to drop NOW before I wear the hell out of Slow Down/Nótt.

027 || Anna Abreu - Music Everywhere [FSR Rontvia - XX]

An internal investigation is underway to discover why this glorious track is only at #27. Someone will be fired.

Oh and this should have won XX with Butterflies in second so FSR Rontvia and Ashton could remake the iconic 1/2 of Norway and Iceland from ESC09.

026 || Mira Craig - Love or Hate [Tinnmark - XVIII]

With me being one of Mira's 7 fans [in total, not just on Buzzjack] you had to be wondering when she was going to make an appearance. Well here she is just missing out on the top25 with the first of her three solo entries.

I'm still awaiting the remainder of this clip:

and the album this song came from.

Oh OK, fair enough. Weird thing is I've been four times and never been up the Eiffel Tower. My BF's scared of heights bless'im :heehee:

Yeah, prolly :lol:

Both times we were at Disneyland Paris :wub:

I'm stuck there for 9 hours in July where I'm going to be tired and overly hyper about seeing my friend for the first time in 2.5years. Imma have to leave that airport :lol:

The Ashton entry rate - #17

17 || Red Blooded Women - You Made Your Bed - XII

After accidentally starting the Risks FTW movement in BJSC VII within Ashton, the countries entry policy kicked off quietly with the return of Red Blooded Women. Risks FTW is still in play for Ashton and is FINALLY paying out dividends. This entry was fully sanctioned by the band themselves after they stumbled across the BJSC Final thread while googling themselves and following it. The band also gave us the title 'The Mighty Ashton' and gave us a special thanks in their New Years blog post. Unfortunately they split before releasing the full version of Halo which was to be their third BJSC entry :cry:

Some how this missed the top20 whilst being beaten down for being overhyped even though Rich, Tyron and I were the only one's giving it any form of hype. It's a bloody brilliant song, by a brilliant band.

025 || Samantha - U Turn [Angelicland - XXVI]

XXVI was rather a brilliant contest, and not just because it was Ashton's first final appearance for a while :lol: This is one of the reasons why it was a great contest. This song is incredible and that hook!!! Whoever came up with "Burn mother fucker burn" as a hook should be knighted.

024 || Girlicious - Maniac [Kopecka - XXVI]

Yet another brilliant XXVI entry. I adore this track and it was in my top10 singles from last year behind the Tone Damli loon filled top5.

023 || Simon Curtis - Diablo [Jamora - XXX]

This hasn't left my recently played playlist in approaching 4 months, I'm utterly in love :wub:

022 || Natalie Bassingthwaighte - 1000 Stars [unoshake - XXVIII]

The highest non-Ashton Nat Bass entry is this really touching and beautiful ballad, 1000 stars. I am a sucker for a really good ballad and my god is this a good ballad.

021 || Elisabeth Carew - You'll Never Love Me [Kopecka - XXXII]

This is just sensational. Like Diablo this is still on my recently played playlist and very very very very very regularly gets stuck in my head. Such a brilliant track, I really wish I could have fit this in the top20. It's a total bloodbath from here on for places.

Everything in the top20 was entered before Elisabeth Carew, so If XXXII and XXXIII are your only contests and you haven't appeared so far, you're not going to.

078 || Manian - Welcome To The Club [Greenfroze - XVI]

I love clubland trash k. It's the only way I get new Mutya Buena music :lol: I rather enjoy living it up Chav style every now and then [i do live in Dundee after all] and this is perfect for my Chav needs. I actually happen to really really like this track too. I imagine I will be alone in this....

I'm glad one of my entries made it inside your top 100 as well! ^_^ Not my most inspired entry though, but I still like it quite a lot! :dance:

056 || Fake Blood - I Think I Like It [Greenfroze - XXVII]

Another Greenfroze dance track and another track I'm probably alone in adoring.

I'm sorry - as much as I do like this song, I think perhaps Greenland sent it :unsure: :P

This is my final post for the night in here, I'll do the top15 Ashtonise entries and the top20 of all time tomorrow ^_^

The Ashton entry rank - #16

16 || Gabriella Cilmi - Got No Place To Go - VIII

Just missing the top15 is current Ashtonise Queen, Gabriella Cilmi. In the first of her 3 appearances for the Federal Republic Gab catapulted us back into the top10 and was essential in Ashton's last hit streak of 6 top10s in 8 contests [iV-XI]. This song is incredible, I love the Cilmi and I'm very glad I've entered her over the years.

You are quite right, so they did. I saw 'Green..' and assumed as I had entirely forgotten about Greenland's very random comeback.

Not sure if Dalisska has a shot of appearing in the top 20.....whatever chance there was of top 100. :unsure: I guess we'll see soon enough.

Many great songs here, and you're not alone in loving "I think I like it". :wub:

Possibly, I wonder if there is an old entry you are forgetting that was much loved and supported by Ashton, FSR Rontvia and er, nobody else :(

Oh excuse me whilst I EXPLODE at that Margaret Berger injustice :angry: DIABLO? Really?

(Have you heard his album and his new track Superhero by the way? Almost universally better than Diablo.)

Surely theres more than TWO Herzebnaian entries :( :( theyre not THAT bad!!!

035 || Delta Goodrem - Together We Are One [Greenland - II]

Now Rich really is going to kill me :heehee: If you don't like this ballad, then to the left with you because clearly you are deaf.

I'll let you off, it's a gorgeous song but hardly one of my favourite Delta moments.

It's a properly brilliant track, much better than that Strawberry shake one.

:cry: Although admittedly that wasn't one of my most inspired entries, what to do in those months when you literally have nothing of note to send (hi Stars In Their Eyes :drama:). I don't think I even showed you Strawberry Shake pre-contest, maybe I was too worried after the Lykke Li fiasco :lol:

I can see you inwardly shrieking with joy when Release Me comes on but outwardly doing the shy-white-boy sidestep! :lol:

Something like that, although I'm certainly not shy with a few drinks down me! By the time Gina G inevitably comes on at half two in the morning every time we go out, it's very much an outward shrieking with joy followed by embarrassing OTT loon dancing :lol: Then I remember where I am, and then I remember that I don't care as everybody else is half cut too and doing the same thing, even if the song doesn't mean anything to them apart from being karaoke fodder.

Whilst this section doesn't do a lot for me, You'll Never Love Me aside! I honestly can't even recall Diablo, I think it'll need another listen...

Possibly, I wonder if there is an old entry you are forgetting that was much loved and supported by Ashton, FSR Rontvia and er, nobody else :(

There is one song I was thinking might appear, but I didn't want to get too certain of it.

If I could swap Killabites success with that songs success I so would. :wub:

Love all of these. Think I gave Samantha my 12? And Diablo >>>>>>>>> Superhero sorry Tyron (I wish he hadn't ditched the chiptune sound and the cheeky pop culture references :snif:)

As for the top 20, Alcazar better be in there AT LEAST once or there'll be trouble :kink:

wow 2 Botanikka entries in top 40 :wub:

I can't believe how we both die for Rontvia entries (I don't stan as you do but still I love almost every Rontvia song), but we show so little love between our entries...strange!!!

Let's be honest Addy - EVERYONE loves Rontvia :wub:

Not everyone, some of the more indie countries are less than keen. I can't recall the last time I scored points from PRoJ for example! And Eledan have gone right off us in the last year or so after having been top of their voting history once upon a time :drama: Mdice and Quotosibb are other nations whom I very rarely score(d) points from, although there's been a bit of a turnaround with the latter with The Last Time receiving decent points and Sadness Is A Blessing getting the full 12!
