May 25, 201114 yr PRoJ gave Sadness Is A Blessing 6! My apologies, I must have been too shocked for it to register :heehee: To be fair, I don't often like their entries enough to give them points either, but I'm liking Lonely Heart a lot so maybe this time! ...which is more than I gave it IIRC  That's ok, it was less for the pop fans to be honest, it was strange to be receiving high points from everyone I don't usually score from for once! At least you liked it to some extent!

Interesting that... ^_^ That's true, I gave 3 or 4 points to it I think. It certainly wasn't "nothingy" :kink:
May 25, 201114 yr Interesting that... ^_^ That's true, I gave 3 or 4 points to it I think. It certainly wasn't "nothingy" :kink: The strange thing is, I love pretty much everything in Jester's personal chart  But the low-key indie entries tend to go over my head a bit. He's had some amazing entries actually but my favourites of his always seem to fail (that Charlotte Gainsbourg song was brilliant for example, so underrated). The new dance niche he's found is very welcome too. Who called it 'nothingy'?
May 25, 201114 yr That's the thing, I think he got bored of sending stuff he loved but noone was voting for (except me ) I may have had something to do with his recent change of style actually ^_^ Isn't that what Phil said?

I can imagine. Indie and alternative CAN do well in this contest but it seems to have to have some sort of pop appeal too to crossover, the subtle indie and ambient/trip hop type stuff that he likes has never really produced a BJSC hit sadly. Oh really? So it literally is a change of style? I thought it was just coincidental that he was sending two (great) Romanian dance tracks in a row! I think 'vile' was the phrase that he used iirc
May 25, 201114 yr True, you explained this to me in a PM the other day I think :) Well, not EXACTLY, but it has been noted, and he is genuinely sending tracks he likes (albeit I kind of found him Radio Killer ) Ah, yes, that sounds more like him :kink:

I'd never heard of Radio Killer before to be honest, but they sound like they could follow Inna, Edward Maya and Alexandra Stan into the charts with the right promotion. That'll teach me to crossover to the dark indie side :snif: Hence why I took it as far the other way as possible last month with some really corny pop music, and now we're onto the dance anthem :cheer: Next month - heavy metal!
May 25, 201114 yr Author Oh excuse me whilst I EXPLODE at that Margaret Berger injustice  DIABLO? Really? (Have you heard his album and his new track Superhero by the way? Almost universally better than Diablo.) Yeah I downloaded 8Bit heart but I haven't heard his new track yet. It's on my to download list though. I'll let you off, it's a gorgeous song but hardly one of my favourite Delta moments. Although admittedly that wasn't one of my most inspired entries, what to do in those months when you literally have nothing of note to send (hi Stars In Their Eyes :drama:). I don't think I even showed you Strawberry Shake pre-contest, maybe I was too worried after the Lykke Li fiasco  Wow at this segment, Yohanna, Mira, Nat Bass, Music Everywhere and Release Me and all shy of the top 25 :o Whilst this section doesn't do a lot for me, You'll Never Love Me aside! I honestly can't even recall Diablo, I think it'll need another listen... Words :wub:I think you did show me Strawberry Shake and one other track, think. It was a total bloodbath assembling the top25, I am literally gutted Yohanna missed out. Words  There is one song I was thinking might appear, but I didn't want to get too certain of it. If I could swap Killabites success with that songs success I so would. If you are thinking Words then you're on the right track, bloody wonderful song  It doesn't count then  Yeah well it's a beautiful city, enjoy :D Love all of these. Think I gave Samantha my 12? And Diablo >>>>>>>>> Superhero sorry Tyron (I wish he hadn't ditched the chiptune sound and the cheeky pop culture references :snif:) As for the top 20, Alcazar better be in there AT LEAST once or there'll be trouble :kink: We did go into the city itself the first time, but I was like 8 so I'll be damned if I remember it  That Samantha track is awesome, so catchy. You'll have to Stay wait till The Night to find out :kink: wow 2 Botanikka entries in top 40  I can't believe how we both die for Rontvia entries (I don't stan as you do but still I love almost every Rontvia song), but we show so little love between our entries...strange!!! Sending Nat Bass, who I adore, did help :heehee: Possibly because you send trash like Darin [Who the Ashtonise police/armed forces with kill on sight, so you'd best warn him to stay away from our shared island] I think 'vile' was the phrase that he used iirc  Yes, I do believe that was the word I used to describe it. There may have been a 'horrific' in there too.
May 25, 201114 yr My apologies, I must have been too shocked for it to register :heehee: To be fair, I don't often like their entries enough to give them points either, but I'm liking Lonely Heart a lot so maybe this time! I'm not sure our taste is compatible Rich  You like more scandi-pop and pure pop than me.
May 25, 201114 yr Rich i'm still waiting for you to send that Slovakian rock song you promised! :o I don't remember on what basis I was supposed to send that, but maybe when I finally do leave the contest it'll be my last hurrah! But only in a contest where there are no semis, can't have a deliberate DNQ :o
May 25, 201114 yr I'm not sure our taste is compatible Rich  You like more scandi-pop and pure pop than me. True, but I've gone dance this month :cheer: At least we'll always agree on Take That and Lady Gaga
May 27, 201114 yr Author Buzzjack being down kinda threw the timetable a lil, but the top20 is imminent.
May 27, 201114 yr Author The Ashton entry rank - #15 15 || Gabriella Cilmi - Don't Wanna Go To Bed Now - XI BOQ4ClSqX5E This song is actually my ringtone  I dearly love this song, so much I almost squeed myself to death when I found the CD Single in Aus. This has been my favourite Gabriella Cilmi song from the moment I first saw her live supporting the Sugababes in Glasgow [The album was out 2 weeks later :funky:] mainly because this is so fucking incredible live. I have a very bad quality video of her performing this live at her Lessons To Be Learned tour in which she came right up to me [The stage was like 6inches high] and sang straight into my camera  God I love this woman. So, to conclude this essay, EPIC song, not so inspired BJSC entry.
May 27, 201114 yr Author #20 & 19 020 || Måns Zelmerlöw - Cara Mia [Letland - XXVII] oBMKKsMMfCQ 110% Pure Schlager epic. 019 || Maria Haukaas Storeng & Måns Zelmerlöw - Precious To Me [Tinnmark - XXVI] 2jWX0QDUxms The saviour of Maria's otherwise god awful third album is the second part of this Måns double. Wonderful song.
May 27, 201114 yr Author The Ashton entry rank - #14 14 || Alex Roots - Don't Stop Looking - XVI AlzI-zAQw-Q Entered two months late this glorious 70/80's throwback to Does Your Mother Know Abba. I adore this song but go through periods where I completely forget about it. This was one of 2 successes for the Risks FTW strategy pre-Sandén storming it's way into the top5 [At the time my 3rd]

Wonderful song. This calls for a Make My Day rate; 1. My Heart Is Singing - 6/10 2. Extra Mile - 8.5/10 (the live version was a 9.5) 3. Make My Day - 6/10 (how was this considered and then approved for MGP? Talk about a step down in quality) 4. Cold Souls - 7/10 5. Born Again - 4/10 6. Precious To Me - 9/10 7. Save Me - 5/10 8. Get Back - 5/10 9. Under Repair - 5/10 :(

Because it was about as risky as me sending the likes of Shackles, Brittany McDonald, Anna Abreu and Sheelah - i.e. not particularly
