How can I see the popularity bars in iTunes 9 & 10?

Use this link: http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore...aultSeeAllSongs

Then select 'View' and tick 'popularity', alternatively, in the headings bar (Artist, Album, Time, etc), right click and select 'popularity'

I've never seen much euro-pop acts performing in the UK so Alexandra Stan won't perform here i'm guessing :(
Didn't realise 'Super Bass' was so high! Awesome.
Thanks Eric, it's a bit weird that Scott Mills can get something so high on iTunes Will give it a listen later, will I like it?

Its not Scott Mills that has got it so high, it is the KFC advert it is being used in that has got it so high, as it has only been released this week. I wouldn't be suprised if you have already heard it, as the advert has been EVERYWHERE for months. I think you should like it, its very Adele.. I actually thought it was her the first time I heard it. Its a beautiful song, you should make sure you listen to it.

Um, surely isn't it a combination of both like we said in the previous thread?

I know but the way the poster said it, it came across that Scott was the main reason, when the advert is the main one.

I didn't know it was on the KFC ad, thought it was on a smaller ad - I do like then, was searching for what it was! :o

So if there will be much more euro-pop, will it be good or not?

Thinking, it's not so quality sometimes, but always interesting.

But Alexandra Stan... huh... stay away

I don't like all these piano songs getting in the charts (Birdy, Templecloud etc.) :( They're not any good and it's as if they're trying to be the next Adele.

I'd love for Alex to peak at 2 officially as she obviously can't get past Pitbull (and Example when he releases)

Judas #10 (combined)

Born This Way #17 (combined)

Edge of Glory #20 (combined)

Wow, good on Alexandra. Shows what the top 10 effect can do, her rise reminds me of K'naan last year.

That claim nearly annoys me as much as the "they're trying to be the next GaGa" ones.

I am loving it, as basically every song in the top 40 sounds the same at the moment. It is nice to see something different, people with great talent and songs that aren't about going to 'the club'.

To be fair, he has a point. The success of RITD and SLY may well start a massive wave of female piano ballads being released as that seems to be a successful sound. There aren't many at the moment (only Birdy and Templecloud really) but I'm sure there'll be more in the coming months.

"I'm into you" top 10 :o

I was never expecting this song to do so well... I guess the video is boosting it !

You'll never get a chart dominated with piano/singing ballads in the same way that the current chart is dominated with dance-pop. There's a lot of different things you can do within dance-pop. If you're just using a piano and singing, all you can do if try different melodies, chord progressions and lyrics. That's it. People will stop buying them after a while, and then people will try and spice them up with things like drums, guitar, rapping, etc. and then you basically end up with "normal" songs again.

That's exactly saying Adele started the piano ballad thing and people copied her which is false, since there's many other artists who did that before her. It's exactly saying how Lady Gaga started the electro/dance-pop wave which some people disagree on ;)
