May 31, 201114 yr I have to say I was expecting very little from this after some of the tripe they have released but this is really rather good.
May 31, 201114 yr Wow, slightly unexpected. Never thought I'd have a time again where I was really excited about KC and Hard-Fi both releasing, but I really like both this and "Good for Nothing" - hope they can do well.
May 31, 201114 yr I have to say I was expecting very little from this after some of the tripe they have released but this is really rather good. Baically THIS. That is all. Genuinly excited for the album now!
May 31, 201114 yr I'm in two minds about the Kaiser Chiefs. I loved Employment when it was released, but I'm not too keen on it as much, although it has some great moments on it. Angry Mob had a good lead single, whilst Off With Their Heads... was far too poppy and spoiled by Mark Ronson's snazzy production. This sounds like the darkest single they've put out, so it's a risk to make it the lead track. It's a definate grower.
June 1, 201114 yr I didn't find this that special on first listen, although I was a huge fan of their first two albums (and I did also like the third, but admit that it did feel a bit weak and unlike them compared to the previous two). Anyway, I'll give it a few more listens before final judgement, and hope for another strong album!
June 1, 201114 yr After the dismal Ruby, I didn't think they come back with a better track, I really like this on first listen, its a grower.

June 1, 201114 yr Ruby and I Predict A Riot remain BY MILES their best - not keen on this at all atm :( Shame, I loved Employment and YTAM, plus OWTH was great, so I'm dissapointed. Another song called Starts With Nothing has leaked too, I can't post the link though as the page has an mp3 d/l link...
June 1, 201114 yr Didn't it go top five in your chart for ages? Yes it did, but after awhile I go sick of it after it was used on some Saturday night flop TV programme.
June 1, 201114 yr I don't know if I should be admitting this in here, but Off With Their Heads was my favourite of their albums. So in a way it's a step backwards for me. More interesting than anything Beady Eye will ever release though.

More interesting than anything Beady Eye will ever release though. I've been disappointed with Beady Eye, only The Roller really grabbed me. For the Kaisers, I loved "Yours Truly, Angry Mob" then went off it. I think I prefer it as an album to "Off With Their Heads", "Employment" is by far my favourite.
June 1, 201114 yr Yes it did, but after awhile I go sick of it after it was used on some Saturday night flop TV programme. I felt exactly the same about Ruby, charted it at #1 then got thoroughly sick of it and can't bring myself to listen to it anymore.
June 3, 201114 yr Album news from Music Week Kaiser Chiefs are allowing fans to create their own running order and artwork for their new album, The Future Is Medieval, and take a share in any sales. Using the band’s official site, kaiserchiefs.com, fans can build a bespoke 10-track album from a choice of 20 songs (with 60-second clips of all tracks available to stream in advance). They can then create their own cover and download it for £7.50. They can then build their own website to sell their version of the album, taking a £1 share for every copy sold. In an official statement, the band said their intention was “to create a music experience that can be shared and enjoyed by all and at the same time revitalise and subvert the industry standard”. "It can re-engage the excitement and spontaneity of offering new music immediately to fans, allowing them to hear the record at the same time as media and critics alike and hopefully giving people a fun experience at being the Kaiser Chiefs A&R department,” they added. A traditional 13-track physical album will follow. The Future Is Medieval is the band’s fourth album and the follow up to 2008’s Off With Their Heads, which has sold almost 217,000 units in the UK to date.
June 3, 201114 yr I had a go compiling what I think is the best 10 track order for the album, gaining inspiration for running order from the best 10-track album ever (which might be hinted at by one of the song choices): 1. Long Way From Celebrating 2. Problem Solved 3. Little Shocks 4. Dead or in Serious Trouble 5. Man on Mars 6. Heard It Break 7. Cousin in the Bronx 8. Coming Up For Air 9. Fly on the Wall 10. Saying Something. I really should work in A&R. It'll be interesting to see how far off the official track list I'll be.

Something tells me you might be referring to a track which shares its name with a George Orwell novel :P
June 3, 201114 yr interesting track, very different from their usual sing-along anthems that they do very well :o I think this will grow on me- I really like the Kaisers, hope they can do do moderately well this era
