I am really looking forward to it this year and I hope both Kelly and Tulisa can show some independence and fairness especially with no Simon to suck up to.I like Caroline Flack and know she will be good.I do not know why Olly is there, it is not as Sabrina is claiming that I do not like him but not sure what he can add.

The moment I read that quote I thought 'glad to have kept his job'. Just because I remember immediately after last series finished, there was talk of a new presenter, and with major changes in the judging lineup etc. he's lucky to still be there.

 

Daily Fail could have at least found a better picture of him. I mean, he's slouching. :drama:

 

Anyway, Kelly looked stunning in those photos. :wub: Can't wait to see her on the show.

It's well documented I LOVE Olly Murs, but I've stopped deluding myself he'll be a decent presenter :( Can't wait to see Kelly/Tulisa judging though - love both! :heart:

After entertaining hundreds of thousands of Take That fans in Manchester, it was back to the new day job for Gary Barlow – judging on The X Factor.

 

Auditions for the eight series of the hit ITV show have come to town – and it was a first chance for Manchester audiences to see the new judging line-up of Gary alongside fellow newcomers Tulisa Contostavlos of N-Dubz fame and Destiny’s Child star Kelly Rowland, as well as stalwart judge Louis Walsh.

 

Needless to say it was Tulisa and Kelly getting the flashbulbs popping as they arrived at the auditions yesterday. Tulisa chose a white jumpsuit, while Kelly rocked up in a yellow jacket with black skirt – then promptly changed once inside the studio to a black jumpsuit with a daring slash.

 

As the show started, it was Gary getting the biggest cheers as the hometown hero.

 

Fans queued for five hours at Event City at the Trafford Centre to be in with a chance of being in the studio audience for the new series, with two packed filming sessions yesterday, and two more due today.

 

Then multi-tasking Gary will jet off to Cardiff tonight to rejoin his Take That band mates as they continue their record breaking Progress Live tour. While fans in Manchester were eager to see and hear the new music talents, of course, they were also desperate to see how the new panel of judges are getting along.

 

And would you believe it? It’s pop’s Mr Nice Gary who actually looks to be turning into the panel's new ‘Mr Nasty’ – taking Simon Cowell’s familiar seat on the far end of the panel, and deploying some typically Cowell acid-tongued put downs to the audition hopefuls.

 

At Monday’s session he gave short shrift to singers for failing to warm up properly, and even when a karaoke-loving taxi driver sang Could It Be Magic, he had no hesitation in delivering a withering response.

 

Gary said: “I suppose that is the question, could it be magic? I’m afraid the answer is no. When you started to dance I thought could this get any worse? And then you started to sing.”

 

Oh, Gary!

 

However, there were moments when the panel were seriously impressed. And it was 30-year-old Carolynne Poole, wife of Stockport County player David Poole, who delivered the most spine-tingling moment – getting a standing ovation for her version of Miley Cyrus’s The Climb.

 

Tulisa said to Carolynne: “I can see you in the final”, while Gary added: “That was absolutely spectacular. I would buy your album right now. There is so much possibility here, I’d take you in my category right now.”
